Will brake if you let it spring back
Just what I ordered. Broke on me because my wrench slipped and it sprang back. Had to get another one

Worked for my 2020 Chevy Trax
I purchased this for by husbands 2020 Chevy Trax. It worked great. Was a perfect OEM fit. Very fairly priced.

Do yourself a favor and spend the 80 on a Gates, OEM or ACDelco.
2014 Chevorlet Cruze 1.8L LS - March 2025 - had an issue with a bearing noise and i couldn't figure out. It ended up being the water pump - I figured, since i am there, might as well change the tensioner pulley (bad idea). Change one part at a time (is my own advice moving forward). This bad tensioner made me chasing down a compressor issue bc it looked like the compressor was giving out due to the belt playing the banjo. I changed compressor and chased down a number of other issues that in the end, it ended up being this tensioner pully. This aftermarket doesn't put the right amount of tension to keep it tight. Its been 3 months and i was running out of options, so start from the begining, when there is no other options. Visual examination and just as the belt was playing the banjo, so was this tensioner. Good think i kept the original tensioner, i put the original in, and Bingo, no more issue. I ordered a Gates one, it gets here Monday. I dam near sold this car, due to this tensioner. Hope this advice helps. My return window is long closed.

Instruction that should be mandatory!
There should be a mandatory caution sent with this item focused on the retaining pin for the spring. “DO NOT REMOVE UNTIL INSTALLED “.I removed this pin for ease of installation and the unit sprung apart and luckily I was not injured. Putting this spring back together is no easy task.Buyer Beware!

Good part at and great price!
This rwplaced a Motorrad thermostat that cost about twice as much, went bad in less then 2 years. Now the P0598 code is gone, on the chevy cruze the thermostat has a heater control circuit, i took the Motorrad thermostat apart and found that the sauther on one of the wires failed . So only time will tell but i have had good luck with these apremium parts,

Dont use the bolt that comes with it.
The original tensioner bolt is torque to yield, meaning that you are supposed to replace the bolt when you replace the tensioner. I was happy to see this tensioner came with a replacement bolt, with same etorx head as the original, unlike some of the others. But when installing the new tensioner I found that the new bolt is 3/8-1/2" shorter than the original. What that means is it only catches 1-2 threads in your engine block before bottoming out. Use bolt at your own risk! There is a good chance it will strip your engine.Once I figured this out I had no other choice but to reuse the original bolt for the new tensioner. Not ideal but otherwise it seems to be fine, can't give 5 stars.
