Far too expensive, very short shelf life
The three tubs of chickpeas are packed in corrugated cardboard wrapped in tape. Each tub has a plastic cover. when this is taken off, there is a ring pull to pull off the aluminium lid. The tubs contain 7.05g (200g) each. The aroma is similar to burnt caramel, it isn't unpleasant. The nutritional information on the tubs is too small to read. The ingredients are chickpeas and jaggery which typically comes from the sap of palm trees. The predominant flavour is the sugar, it isn't as sweet as maple syrup but leaves a slightly burnt aftertaste. the chickpea flavour only comes through slightly when bitten into. They are crunchy and taste very much like honey coated nuts. The price at the time of review is £25 for 3 tubs which makes them about £8.33 for 200g. In my opinion this is far too expensive. Honey coated nuts are around £6 for 500g at Asda and these taste just like them. The product also has a vry short shelf life of 5 months from date of packing and consume within 15 days of opening.
