Winnie the Pooh: The Classic Edition

Instant favorite. Classic that every child should read. We had great family time when my child read to us out loud. Illustrations are very beautiful and appear on every page. Book size is not very large, which makes it easy for a child to hold when reading. Perfect book.

A beautiful book with colorful illustrations. I purchased this book for a friend's upcoming first grandchild and have to admit I have never read this book. I began looking through the book and decided to read it. Such a delight! Of course the story is great and the illustrations are beautiful. It reminded me of a series of children's books that my parents bought for my brothers and me. Of course it did not include Winnie the Pooh, but had many great stories with illustrations. This book reminds me of the set of books I read from as a child. This book is so good that I bought a copy for myself. Enjoy a great read and wonderful illustrations that bring the story to life. . .

All the classic Pooh Bear with all the original illustrations which are so charming and sweet.

This review is for the edition published in 2022 by Sky Pony Press. Sometime when a title enters the Public Domain, anybody and everybody can copy-paste the text and illustrations, and do so carelessly, without attention or care to formatting or image sharpness and sometimes even the proper text (I'm looking at you, some editions of the first three Hardy Boys books where a new "publisher" carelessly grabbed the later Not-in-Public-Domain text.) Happily, this edition was printed just prior to Winnie-the-Pooh entering PD, and great care was taken to ensure the text was correct and the original illustrations are there and both text and pictures are clear and sharp, not cheap scans. The hardcover is tight and nicely designed. It should be noted that the product page at one point claims the illustrations are colorized "for the first time". This is not so. Hilda Scott colorized the illustrations in 1974 for the Colorized Edition by E. P. Dutton. These new colorized illustrations by Diego Jordan Pereira are nicely done, although I'm hard pressed to say which I prefer. Some of the illustrations I prefer the older colorized version, and some the new. I myself prefer the original black-and-white pictures over both. But the colorizations nonetheless add a new dimension to these wonderful stories, which I enjoy revisiting every 3-5 years. Well done, Sky Pony Press. Thank you for respecting the original work while adding your own touch, and not just cashing in on Public Domain.

Very good quality and the font size isn't tiny

Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne is a charming and timeless children's classic that follows the adventures of Pooh Bear and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood. A nice Pooh book. The script & drawings are very nice & crisp with thick pages. I took off 1 star because the upper right front cover is not perfect. It is a bit pushed in & dented. I would recommend it if you are looking for Winnie the Pooh stories.

Very pretty book, classic stories, engaging writing. I'm currently reading this to a three and a five year old as part of our homeschool read-alouds. They've been very engaged listening to the stories, though I don't think they will fully appreciate it until they are a little older. I look forward to reading this book with them for years to come.
