Insights on Revelation (Swindoll's Living Insights New Testament Commentary)

Very good for introducing yourself to the book of Revelation. I like how Chuck keeps speculation to a minimum and just presents the facts.

I REALLY enjoyed reading this book. Charles Swindoll is an excellent Pastor and Author. I have SEVERAL of his books and I have enjoyed reading them all. I now use them all as references.When I began to determine, to gain a better understanding of the book of Revelation, I started studying God’s Word by using:1) God’s Word (the Bible),2) Matthew Henry’s Commentary and,3) Charles Swindoll’s Living Insights “Revelation”.I studied all 3 books in just that order. I would read one chapter in the Bible and then read the same chapter in Matthew Henry’s Commentary and then read that same chapter in Charles Swindoll’s Living Insights “Revelation”. I would go chapter by chapter each day, until I had finished all three books.Studying in this manner and order DEFINITELY gave me an enormous understanding. The book of Revelation is now my favorite book in the entire Bible.I am currently studying the book of “Romans”...and yes, I have Mr. Swindoll’s Romans Living Insights book to help me gain a better understanding. I can’t wait for Mr. Swindoll to undertake the Old Testament, because I’m waiting!

I think I would like to chat with the author--he has a very friendly easygoing style while explaining some difficult material. He gave insight into some concepts that I didn't completely understand, as well as making it obvious that I had misread some others. If you are struggling with understanding John's Revelation this is a good read, and I recommend it. Thank you Mr. Swindoll for championing God's message of hope!

I lead a small group for Bible Study and this book helps answers questions about Revelation which is one of the hardest books of the Bible to understand, a must-read if your’e interested in really learning more about what End Times will be like.

Jesus promised to return. Revelation gives more of Jesus than the Gospels. Worthy, Holy, Lion, Lamb, Alpha & Omega, fully God well exposited contextually true, accessible and well explained by Mr. Swindoll.

I started and then started back to give undivided attention to this book and the study of revelations. This is in depth and has great graphics that each page is more than just print. Chuck Swindoll never disappoints. I used to listen on radio many years ago. He is an amazing writer. When I read his written word, I can hear his voice saying it. Just starting the Living Insights series and ordered quite a few more after seeing this nice hardback book that will be in my permanent library until gone and then donated to church library. This is timeless material.

It’s truly amazes me that a former Marine officer can pen such amazing clarity and understanding in such a difficult book. I’m also a former Marine grunt that has given his life to trying, with 100% help from the Holy Spirit be be a Christian. Mr Swindolls books have definitely helped me on my journey. I truly enjoy reading his books and I’m praying that I can read the entire Living Insight series, now onto John.

This, for me, was really like a study book on Revelation. Swindoll references Old Testament scripture to enhance various Revelation verses, which really pulls together the message in Revelation verses. Good sound commentary with applications suggested. I don't take notes on all the commentaries I read, but I did on this book. Great, enlightening look at Revelation.

This is the second of the insights that I have read (I've read the one on John) and I was not the least disappointed. This book will challenge your Christian faith and cause you to question whether you are truly a Christian or not. What is great about the book is that it demystifies the book of Revelation and keeps our focus on what is important about the book. Since the day I bought the book, I could not put it down and I had to read it every day. I'm looking forward to reading other books in the series and the next one for me is Luke which I have already bought.
