Good Stand - does the job
I needed a foldable stand for my banjo. The stand works well for the banjo as well as guitars. Has a sturdier feel than other folding stands I own. I will be buying another soon, and getting rid of some of my other folding stants.

Modify for safety
I bought this stand to safeguard my guitar around pets. The neck brace does that job. But, the leg brace leaves a tab of metal that could easily scratch the guitar’s back as I store or remove it from the stand. A piece of pipe insulation foam will do the job, but a scratch guard should be added to this design.

Middle of the road smelly stand that works
First off, as other reviewers point out, it has a noticeable chemical smell. It immediately reminded me of mothballs, which is the chemical napthalene. It's on all the rubber components and strongest on the feet rubber caps. Design is great! Very narrow foot-print, and I especially like the curved-hook to hold the neck. The fold-up and carry in gig bag design is also a plus. However, construction is middle of the road. It's made with light weight metal parts and welding. The neck extension doesn't tighten well, so it's wobbly. The rivets look cheap and seem like they can break with any kind of rigorous use. OVERALL: for an extra $10 you can start to get something of similar design and better build. OPTIONS: all problems mentioned above are fixable with items from music or local hardware store: tube end-caps, replaceable rivets or small screws, etc. When all done, you've spent more than $10, so it begs the question 'why not just spend the extra $10-$15 up front'? I'm keeping it and will deal with it but not likely to buy again. UPDATE (2 DAYS LATER): replaced all four end caps on feet of stand with new rubber end caps from hardware store and the smell is not a problem now. Easy $4 fix.

Really nice!
I had bought a little tripod stand and my 5 string electric bass never really fit it well and would usually list to one side. This stand holds it much better and I like that the neck holder has the slot in it so the bass won't fall over if bumped. Also I like the four feet over the tripod design. I think it's well worth the money.

Strong
This is a strong stand and I am comfortable with putting my bass on it (my previous stand would shake). It is a little different putting the bass on the stand because of that top part that holds the bass, but it is a great stand.
