100W In Wall Stereo Speaker Volume Control with Impedance Matching (White-Ivory-Almond) by AVX Audio

Updated: Volume controls work very well. No issues with amp and impedance mismatch due to adjustable jumper on the VC. Due to some really stupid operator error, I had trouble getting these to work. Excellent customer support - in the US, from Chris helped with the troubleshooting. All is good now. My rating is now 5 starts due to the support, ease of connection, and patience of the tech team. These are tough to get into a single gang box, so use low voltage boxes (with no backside) or rip out the back of the single gang box to make it work. They do seem to turn all the way off, which was different than another reviewer's experience.

Very impressive little control. Connections are well made. The plastic part that holds the terminals where you screw the speaker wires into can be disconnected from the switch so you dont have this heavy weight pulling on the wires while you are trying to hook them up. The best feature is the multi colored face plates and knobs. I was able to match my existing colors perfectly. Once again, I was very impressed with the quality that went into this volume control. It works perfectly. Ohh.. you can also change the jumpers around for 4 or 8 ohm speakers.

Did not fit well into conventional switch box with the 4 sets of wires. Nice range of volume settings compared to unit it replaced. Seems to be of high quality with heavy windings.

bought 5 of these. it took me 3 months of troubleshooting to figure out that the transformers in the volume controls were causing extreme signal loss which caused my reciever/amp to clip. hired fprofessional audio company to come in they disconected the vol controls and wallah perfect sound. contacted the company and they refused to refund. bottom line these are good for low ambient sound and thats all. dont buy. go with knoll transformerless vol controls instead

I installed 9 of these volume controls on a customers house and they work great. The terminals are labeled and can be easily disconnected from circuit board for easy wiring that plugs right back onto circuit board. I did have one volume control that was missing the left jumper on the circuit board, I contacted seller, AV Express, and they shipped me a replacement immediately and in a very professional manner. I will be buying more of these volume controls on future multi room audio installations!

Did not fit into the 2 gang box that has the separate electric & non electric box. Disappointing to find out as I would have assumed these are made to accommodate all non-e boxes.

Good unit. The size made it a little hard to get in the box. If you are putting it in an existing high voltage box and not an open low voltage box it will be hard to get the wires in it. Otherwise, works great and has the 3 different color options.

so I purchased two different brands of the wall volume control and this one was way more difficult to wire. It was slightly difficult to keep the back of the controls in a perfectly upright position, considering I couldn't tighten the front plate until after it was done so it was cumbersome trying to hold it in place. The actual wiring wasn't that difficult after figuring out how it worked but again this model was way more difficult to wire than the other I purchased from pyle. I also noticed that, although it was nice having the little click volume positions that it does not completely go off in the lowest position. It is barely audible but does not completely shut off which is a tad annoying. The other model I purchased is dead silent in the lowest or off position. Its not a bad purchased but there are better in the same price range in my opinion, however it does do what it says it does.
