Don't have an answer from you. I am attenuating a 100 watt sub woofer amp in a car and it hasn't melted yet so I can assume that your 15 watt amp shouldn't be an issue.

This attenuator works on all amp speaker outputs. There is no difference. Just be sure to connect the amplifier to l-pad pins 1 & 3 and the speaker(s) to pins 2 & 3. Do the same for the second l-pad on the other channel. These work very smoothly from off to full volume! Orlando

Q: being as how this is rated for 100 watts... how would i get this to work with a more powerful amplifier?

I have tweeters in a 4 ohm 3 way system crossed over at 4200 Hz, powered by a Crown XLS 202 (200 watts per channel RMS @ 4 ohm). The tweeters are rated at 150 W (probably "peak" power) when crossed over at 12kHz. Only a portion of the amps total power output is going to the tweeter when used w/ a passive crossover. My tweeters may get about 50 watts max when I push the Crown to its upper limits. If you are bi-amping the system, then you don't need attenuation.

Woofers generally get most of the output power of the amp because low frequency requires more power than high frequency. A 200 watt amp doesn't send 200 W to the woofer and 200 W to the tweeter. As long as you have an adequate passive crossover installed a 100 W L-pad should work for the tweeter.
