On what planet is 4 oz a "cup of coffee"?!

What served as a standard cup of coffee here in the US was at one time 4 ounces. They’ve increased it to 6 ounces of coffee and a 6 ounce cup to put it in. Commercialism… bigger cup, more coffee, both cost more. And in some circumstances people go for the 8 ounce, I buy the large when I buy coffee out.

What Country is it made in?

We have already reported these sellers to amazon. Please make sure when you purchase your French press that is from SterlingPro)" This is clearly FALSE ADVERTISING!

Is there any plastic in the lid?

No there is no plastic...it all stainless steel

How many ounces of coffee can you make in one pressing? It claims to hold a liter, but others say it makes a lot less. Can I get 4 8 oz cups out of it

The mid-size product's capacity is 1.5 liters (6.34 cups), but real-world use yields ~4.75 cups (38 ounces) MAXIMUM of coffee. I'll explain: There is a max fill line etched on the press's inner wall, and that to allow room for the very thick, insulated lid. Too much water -- or ground coffee, for that matter -- would prevent the lid from being fully forced down onto the press.) For my 4.75 cups final yield, I go with the standard recommended 2 level tablespoons of coarse ground coffee for every 6 ounces of water. So going with that for 5 cups of near to boiling water, I use 13.3 level tablespoons of coarse ground. 5 cups of water; 13.3 tablespoons. That combination gets me exactly on the press's max fill line.
