Perfectly clear when you remove the two (2) protective films!
I'm basically reviewing this to try to counter some of the frankly confusing low reviews for this shield. First, unless you buy an enclosed reinforced face shield with a surrounding metal strap or plastic frame along with high density Polycarbonate material that, itself, won't turn into eye destroying fletchettes, you should expect labeling that strongly suggests that you wear eye protection along with the face shield. That does not make this a poor face shield! However please take a look at it. Is it made out of really strong material that won't hurt your eyes if it itself destrucively fails to absorb kinetic energy from a moving object? No. Does it fully enclose your eye area, preventing at least pebble sized debris from bouncing behind the shield and hitting your eyes? No. Does it prevent wafting mist from reaching your eyes? No. Is it ballistic rated or meets USA military specifications? No. It strictly meets Z87 + specification for a FACE shield. Plus UV protection. It has not been falsely advertised and is not designed specifically to protect your eyes. Follow the easy to see caution on these. Wear additional protection for your eyes or buy an enclosed face shield helmet! If you are welding, or want something to prevent a 2 by 4 thrown by a table saw from knocking your teeth out? Do you work on the Mythbusters set? Are you fighting zombies? Do you build potato guns and shoot yourself in the face with them? Going to start a fight at a punk bar? Buy more appropriate head gear! In my case, I wear these to protect the rest of my face and to keep my expensive impact resistant safety bifocals clean when I am doing light work where at worst I expect I would get a small scar on my face. (The bifocals themselves are expensive and mission critical because I can't work without them.) Five to ten dollars for that is ideal, especially when I am painting, soldering electrical work, SMALL moving debris tasks. I have a more expensive set of head gear for more dangerous work. If you do a range of dangerous tasks, you should have equipment to match. Clarity of the shield: please see photos. There are TWO (2) protective films on these. Compare the shield with both films on to the mounted one without the films. Note the printed page behind this. Conclusion: many people are failing to remove one or both pieces of of film from the shields. They are clearer than the original shield on my headgear, which arrived scuffed. Which is EXACTLY what the film is there to prevent! This is a functional essential replacement shield for me, the value for the money is high. It fully meets reasonable expectations. It has standard holes that fit a wide array of headgear, and can be easily nipped to fit far more. Such as my headgear with a non standard center clip. It gets five stars from me. Read other reviews, of course, and judge based on possible competency and completeness of their content. Edited to fix spelling, grammar, and to add missing information.

shape it before using - it's perfect
This is an excellent shield at an excellent price. (All reviews reporting that the shield is not transparent have simply not removed both contact sheets) I have had difficulty getting these on my headgear without either getting small cracks in the middle or having it spring free and pop forward at the sides. I've tried using my hair dryer and a heat gun and neither worked to get it to bend. This time, I found a good DIY way to shape it. I put a soup pot on its side in the oven and heated it to 310F. I put the polycarbonate shield on it in the oven for just a minute or two. I watched it soften and bend around the soup pot beautifully. I took it out, it cooled quickly, and it is now the perfect arc to fit on my visor and is absolutely perfectly clear. Seriously - I forget I have this on when I am working. I have heard that an empty paint can also works for this, but I used a big stock pot.

Good quality, but not a universal fit
Good price for quality. Just know that you may have modify it to fit your face shield frame. It does not, for example, fit the common Sellstrom frame. I assume once I cut modify some holes or cut new ones, it will work. If you aren't handy with cutting thick, hard plastic, look for something else. Follow up: Using a very sharp matte knife and a piece of wood to cut against, I carefully extended the existing holes to fit the Sellstrom frame, and then removed the protective film. It works fine, and the optical quality is excellent. I would have given it five stars if I hadn't had to modify it. Tip: Keep the whole face shield assembly in a plastic bag to prevent dust and scratches from storage.

My review of this product.
These are great replacement face shield covers. I have no complaints. You get much more face protection than you do from just wearing goggles.👍

Good replacment
Replaced the scratched cloudy lens on my SAS #5145 headgear. This lens is generic and flat, not form fitted but the hole pattern fit my headgear fine and I am happy to have a clear lens. Lens material appear to be polycarb and bends nicely and feels durable like polycarb (Lexan).

Crystal clear, scratch free and affordable
I was happy to find one of these replacement face shields that is actually cheaper then buying an whole new frame and all. It fit the frame that I have perfectly fine and it arrived covered in a protective film so it was scratch free.

Works
Used for a cosplay Master Chief helmet shield. Quality was decent, it is thick, and functions as needed for my use. Easy to manipulate.

Arrives as a flat Sheet not as a Curve
I paid $7.95 for this item but this thing is thin and comes as a flat sheet. When I put this on my face shield head gear the top side with the holes conformed to the curve of the head gear but the lower end flared out and remained relatively flat. I was expecting this product to be a smooth curved lens or visor. I can get the same quality of plastic lens from harbor freight for $4.50 but I did not get that because I thought that this visor would be better and I dont have to curve it, turns out I was wrong. I used a heat gun to curve the visor some what but the plastic is so thin that a small area of the lower side bubbled up with minimal application of heat. For 3 or more 4 more dollars you can get the SAS 5155 of 5145 rigid (and much thicker) poly carbonate visor which has the exact same hole placement as this product; in other words the SAS 5145 or 5155 will replace this thin piece of sorry plastic for the particular head gear you would have order this visor for.

Clear vision, good quality but needed to be modified since my old visor has a dome fastener at the ends and thus doesn't.

The shield is sturdy and clear. It is suppose to be universal but the edge of the shield did not quite fit the frame of the headgear. I had to drill the shield hole larger in order to get this shield to fit my headgear. I have purchase a shield from Costco but found it not totally clear (slight blur). I am happy with the Amazon shield.

Should be a song …….. right. When you can see and protect your face, there is no hesitation. I change my visor every year.

Came promptly, fit the shield. No opportunity yet to test it but appears same as the original
