Crossing Continents: A History of Standard Chartered Bank

Spoilt by author's uneducated personal views
I found the book of interest until the 1990s when my recollection of some of what was written differs to that portrayed. It is a shame that this historical account of the Bank is tarnished throughout by the jaundiced personal views of the author towards the Bank’s international officers. Many of these individuals held the Bank together despite some of the appalling decisions made in London.

Brilliant written history of one of the UK’s leading international banks. A must read.
This is the delayed history of the UK’s two most famous banks who merged in 1969.Superbly written, it is compelling reading for all existing and former members of staff..

A financial institution which is Here for Good
I am a retiree of Standard Chartered Bank . Although I know that the Bank has a long history, I do not have the details until now. The book provides a comprehensive view of how the Bank evolved over the years , went through trials and tribulations and remain a viable financial institution to this day.
