The Medium - PlayStation 5

I got this game because I loved this developer's previous game, Blair Witch. The Medium is a great game, deep storyline, good graphics, and fun gameplay. If I had to categorize this game I would call it a horror-puzzle game. There's not really any fighting. The "action" sequences of the game are either running from a monster or sneaking by it to pass through undetected, the main character is not a fighter. But basically the game is about using your abilities as a medium to unravel a mystery and going into the spirit world to help you solve the puzzle. It's a very atmospheric and creepy environment, dark and foreboding, Silent Hill vibes all the way (Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka did some of the music for The Medium). Creepy is the best way to describe it. I didn't really find it "scary" although it did give me a pretty good jump scare at one point but that was only once in the whole game. Gameplay is probably around 8 to 9 hours and I thoroughly enjoyed this game.

This is a great game. I miss good story based horror games. Reminds me a lot of silent hill which is one of my favorite horror games. I love the multidimensional puzzles. I wish I had a weapon to fight some of the ghosts/demons back, but not at all a deal breaker for me. It's more of a story, puzzles, mystery solving, and stealth horror game. Not a shoot 'em up action game. I hope they make a sequel.

Arrived on time and collecting for my Ps5 library. Had to have one of the underrated horror games titles for this generation of consoles

I love this game, scary vibe and game play was intense.

Walk painfully slowly. There's a run button you can set to toggle, great! But wait... Running is almost slower than walking. Keep running. Run a little more. Climb up. Climb down. Solve a little puzzle. Wait, there's one more puzzle ahead. Walk more. Keep walking or running, it doesn't matter, it will take forever anyway. Listen to sloooooooooooow dialogs between people who aren't there. Run away from the monster. But wait, your running is too slow to get away. Get through two million cut scenes that are always a lot longer than they should be. Oh! There's a skip button, thank God! I really don't know how a game could have movement implementation as horrible as this one. And the load times after you die... sloooooooooow even when stored in a firecuda 4TB chip. This game COULD have been a winner if the puppet character on screen (you) would move at least 10x faster. And btw... whoever came up with the idea of changing camera angles as you walk around, forcing you to change the direction of the character to keep going should be hung up in a public square. This "feature" makes you get completely lost from the direction you were going, it's just plain horrible. It's a poorly developed game, frustrating in many aspects that shouldn't be there to piss you off, there's no joy nor fun, just plain old boredom in an unnecessarily slow game.
