Remington X4 Power-X Hair Clippers - Cordless with Japanese Steel Blades and Precision Control Dial; Cuts from 0.5mm to 35mm HC4000

Hair was getting long, don't know how to order a haircut, wife was absent so I decided to get this really nice hair clipper. Delivered promptly to the locker. Here's a short overview:Pros:- Easy to hold and operate. Quiet by my standards which are quite high from a quiet PC enthusiast- Fantastic adjustment with a wheel- Fades cleanly and professionally- Excellent cutting performance. Fast, if the hair is not too long- Comes with a small but instructive manual- Built well, esp. the blades- Comes with a charging adapterCons:- The indicator light doesn't seem to indicate a full charge. Instead the instructions say charge for 10hrs. However, no issues with battery life.- The stated measurements on the combs appear to differ from the actual achieved hair length. Therefore initially confused about how to properly turn the clipper when cutting.- Somewhat slow to cut long hair of 6 inches with a comb attachment. Comb teeth a bit wide apart and thus slow to harness the hair

The clippers are very easy to use and produce an excellent cut. I have used these clippers twice so far on one charge, so I don't yet know how often they need recharging.Things to be aware of:1. They are advertised as having a 5-year guarantee which you can extend to 6 years by registering the product. This is a lie/mistake! Registering the product extends the guarantee to 3 years. The lie is repeated in the booklet that comes with the clippers, so if this bothers you, I suggest not registering, but hang onto the booklet for proof that you are expecting a 5-year guarantee.2. They do not come with a case or bag in which to keep the clippers and various attachments. I would have thought that for an extra pound, they could provide a pouch bag.3. The micro fade comb doubles as a blade protector when the storing the clippers, i.e. there is no dedicated blade guard.4. The tiny blade brush is useless. I find that what's needed is a soft brush with a head approximately 2 to 3 cm wide, with which to brush the hairs off the combs and the body of the clippers. Such a brush can also be used to sweep hair clippings from the back of your neck and behind your ears.

Firstly, at 34.99 this is a massive bargain - GQ magazine voted this clipper top of 2022 and the only con was that it was expensive! Well made Machine and it comes with the right attachments. Attachments can be slightly difficult to remove but just needs a bit of patience and calm. Others have said it would be better if it came with a case of some sort but luckily for me I had one from my previous one that broke. After using I do wish I had gone for one with a taper lever instead of this technology which moves the attachment further away from the blade to get the right length but that’s just my personal preference.

I have been using these on and off for a couple of years to cut my own hair. I chose these because of the option to cut at 35mm. They do the job, just.The motor sounds like it's struggling even on a full charge. Compared to my Philips clippers the motor in these is not good. They also struggle a bit when using the 35mm blade on hair that's a few inches long. You will need to go over it a few times to actually cut it all.

Battery sounds like its struggling, even on full charge, however it does the job.The fact that you can fine adjust the cut is a game changer.I only give 4 stars because I think the battery is under powered.Being portable is amazing

I’ve had a lot of clippers over the years, and after 2 years I can honestly say this is by far the worst, do yourself a favour and avoid. The battery doesn’t hold charge, the blades aren’t sharp, it cuts out intermittently during cutting and the adjustable setting is inconsistent. I try to avoid the waste, so have preserved, but no more. Back to Wahl.

I bought these to replace some clippers that were 15 years old and wow, what a difference! Easy to use, no wires, precise, quiet and takes hair off in a single easy sweep. The unit has a nice weight to it and looks great.
