Have not installed it for my stairs yet because I need to get some wood and am procrastinating, but put it in a major doorway and it's amazing. Easy to open once you get the hang of it, spaces between bars too thin for my three month old miniature dachshund to shove his head in, and nothing interesting on the bottom for him to chew. Easy to install, the extensions (which I originally tried then forwent) are also good and sturdy and simple to add.The cons I have are basically that it's noisy. Extending it so it stays open has a distinctive loud sound and pushing it shut is even louder. A lot of times I have to close it holding up the handle so I don't alert the puppy I'm leaving the area.It's in a very high use doorway right now and for the last two or so weeks has been perfect. Highly recommend for small dog owners for doorways, might even keep this one there and get something else for the stairwell.

I bought two of these gates to enclose our covered deck for our baby and dog. Many of the gates I found were only 30” tall so I was pleased to find these taller ones. Our son is tall and our dog could easily jump a 30” gate, so these are perfect for us. I had no problem installing these myself in very little time. The lock is easy for adults to use and the gates give us peace of mind for keeping our son safe from falling down the stairs. They have simple (but effective) tabs at the bottom to control which way the gate can swing. These are great quality and a decent price. They look great along with the black railing that we already had around the deck. I’m very pleased with them.

I purchased 3 different baby gates until I finally found the perfect one! (Safety 1st and Regalo) Safety 1st is sturdy but not exactly easy to install and also the latch tends to get stuck after a while. The other brand I purchased but returned was Regalo brand...yes it was easy to install but what is the point if the slightest push gets the gate crashing down the stairs (defeats the purpose of a baby gate). This brand however, is extremely sturdy, easy to assemble, and the latch is completely easy to use. I also love the feature where in 90 degrees, it locks the gate open and any degree less gets the door to shut automatically. It comes with 2 different extenders that you don't have to use or you can use one of and/or both.

This gate is pretty awesome! It wasn't bad installing either. Be sure you to follow instructions in regards to the gap, it works great as they state.

Product looks nice, sturdy, easy to put up, auto close but opening is a but to small.

I needed a way to keep my dog out of the master bedroom, but closing the door interfered with the air flow from the HVAC system. I wasn't crazy about having to open/close a gate to get into the master bedroom but this gate makes it easy! The 90-degree "stay open" feature is a definite plus. When I'm home, my dog knows the room is off-limits and doesn't try to enter so I can leave the gate in the open position, making it easy to go in and out of the room. When I'm not at home, closing the gate keeps my dog our of the room. The latch mechanism is well-designed; it's secure enough to keep a toddler from being able to open the gate, but easy enough to teach an older child (4 or 5+ yrs old) how to use if desired. The height of the gate is also a plus - it's tall enough that I'm not stooping to open the latch. I opted for a non-permanent installation of the gate and purchased "Wall Nanny - Baby Gate Wall Protectors" to use in conjunction with the gate to provide a secure, non-damaging installation. Very pleased with the quality and durability of both the gate and the Wall Nanny protectors.

The media could not be loaded.  I had to buy multiple gates and return them before I got to this gate and I’m so grateful I returned the other ones because I was not happy with them and this one is just absolutely perfect. It’s to keep the dogs out and the door shuts right behind you, so you don’t have to remember to shut it behind you it automatically closes. It took me three minutes to install. It comes with extensions two different kinds of extensions, a smaller one and a longer one I use the smaller one and it was well worth the money. I think it was $50 when I bought it and it was well worth every penny. Definitely recommend.
