These nightlights/emergency backup lights/flashlights are just what we needed. As a nightlight it functions as dawn to dusk. It has a sensor. When it gets dark, they turn on automatically. Also noticed that they have dimming capabilities that automatically adjust on their own depending on the darkness of the room. The darker it gets, the brighter the lights become. As a nightlight, you have 3 settings. One is for dim, one is for bright and the other is for off. When the power goes out, they automatically go into an even brighter mode. You can even remove it from the outlet and it becomes a flashlight. The backup batteries are actually 3 AA Energizer Max (included) which I think is better than rechargeable batteries because they will last up to 250 hours vs 6 hours. Love the fact that you can plug them in either with the light facing down towards the floor or up towards the ceiling. We have the ones in the kitchen facing up so they double as under cabinet lighting. Ones in the hallways, entryways/exits are facing down so you can see where you're walking. Also have a couple in the dining, living, family room and bathrooms. We initially purchased 6 and loved them so much we purchased 6 more! We can literally walk through our entire house with the all the primary lights off with ease. No more looking for a flashlight or phone in the dark when the power is out! We also realized God forbid there's a house fire, these lights may also help guide us towards the exits since we have some plugged in on the lower outlets next to all the entryways. Also, living in a state with frequent hurricanes and power outages, these are definitely a must have. It's definitely worth the money and highly recommend!

probably fine except it does go on in a failure but from 4 batteries and i did not want that i wanted electrical chargeing

Parfaite pour éclairer corridor, chambres d'enfants, cuisine, salon et salle de bain sans ouvrir les plafonniers la nuit. Fonctionne très bien en cas de panne d'électricité pour éclairer les pièces communes. Mieux que les veilleuses avec batteries rechargeables, proposées par plusieurs marques, qu'il faut jeter au complet lorsque les batteries ne fonctionnent plus. Après utilisation des batteries incluses, il est possible de mettre des batteries rechargeables, déjà en stock à la maison, et conserver la veilleuse pour plusieurs années. 2 intensités de lumière. Très sensible à la lumière du jour, elle s'éteigne dès les premiers rayons de soleil. Pas de détecteur de mouvement sur ce type de veilleuse ce qui n'était pas un besoin pour nous. Un peu dispendieuse, mais répond à nos besoins familiaux et nos nombreuses pannes d'électricité. Nous ne sommes plus jamais dans le noir et nous n'entendons plus nos enfants hurler à la moindre coupure d'électricité ;-)

I bought these on Amazon UK but both had USA plugs and were listed at 120 volts whereas the UK and Europe are 240 volts. They won't work in Europe.
