Great stories... meh print quality
The stories are great, and I am glad they are all in one anthology. The print quality isn't the best--I find the margins run a bit close to the edge for my taste.

Not the Netflix Show, probably even better.
So, you watched the hit animated anthology "Love, Death + Robots" and you wanted something more to satisfy your thirst. Let me start by saying, this book is a whole different entity from the show.Love, Death + Robots was born out of the mind of Tim Miller, from Deadpool movie fame, to animate a number of literally works, many from the sci-fi realm, and doing it in a way not done before by studios or publishers. This book, right here, is the collection of the stories Tim Miller choose for Season 1. If you watched the show and think: "I don't need this, I saw the show, I know how the stories go", please hit yourself very hard on the face. Many of the stories here were altered for the netflix show, changing details here and there to fit the runtime of each short. The book features all the original short stories + the scripts of the 2 original stories (The Witness + Blindspot), and they're bloody good. In some cases, better than the netflix show. So if you like reading, do yourself a favor and buy this book, or heck, buy the books from each of the authors, which probably have even more short stories (If you're here, you like short stories, so yeah, help the industry).

An anthology that will take you out of this world
Editors Tim Miller & Geff Brown bring us tales that span space and time and go as far out as the LMC. The stand out stories from this book and series for me are the one with the three robots looking at left overs from humanities past. The colony world where mechs are needed to protect the citizens from an invading force. As well as the one where a civilization rises and ascends everyday in a freezer from an old refrigerator. All the stories in this anthology are great and worth the read. I highly recommend this anthology and series to all science fiction fans.

You saw the show - now see the source
Like any almanac, this is a mixed bag. Some stories are well-written, some feel like a teenager’s fanfic. Most are fun though, irrespective of quality. It’s interesting to see what changes were made to the stories in adapting them for the screen, and dive deeper into the nuances and authors’ original choices. This is not to bash on the creators of the show or the authors - the two are completely different forms of media with their own requirements. Enjoyed it, moving on to the second book and waiting for the third one.

Good collection of the original works
It was nice to be able to read the original works all in one place. When watching the series the first time through I would always pause the credits to see who wrote the piece then try to find the original work to read. This collection made it easier. As a bonus, some of the episodes I liked less (and may have skipped on subsequent viewing) have really good stories and I look forward to watching again with more context (Zima Blue and Secret War, specifically). Can't wait for the next volume and trying more authors I may not have read before.
