One must purchase the correct tools to do the dye injection and leak detection of AC units. The kit I purchased contained a tool to inject the dye, a detection light and freon sniffing tool. I injected 1 ounce of the dye into the system and charged the unit enough to make my compressor turn on. The dye showed under the detection flashlight at the rear of the compressor. I evacuated the freon and replaced 2 o rings at the hose block on the rear of the compressor. I then weighed a charge back into the system. The dye worked as advertised and glowed under the detection light.

Already found one leak, seems to work well. Also verified it with a leak detection sniffer. Much more cost effective than our local Napa by several hundred dollars, for similar products.

I have use all types of tracer dye for old R12, R134A and R1234yf and found this dye to be the best and cheapest
