Great Book - Very Interesting and Thought provoking.
Something DEFINITELY happened 13,000 years ago that triggered a cataclysmic set of events that killed off millions and millions of Mega Fauna (eg - Mammoths, Sabre Tooth Tiger, etc - extinction level) and a species of Man - Clovis Man. No one for sure knows what happened - but Brien Foerster brings wraps up at least four theories that have been around for awhile and kind of does an analysis of those theories side by side. He also dives into who built the ancient megaliths that we find scattered around the earth and provides insight into WHY these megaliths were NOT built by the people who inherited them - who science attributes them to today. There was definitely a faction of humans 15,000 years ago that were at the level today's humans were in the 19th century. They succeeded in quarrying and moving blocks of stone that don't have contemporary rivals - and creating structures that are unsurpassed today in complexity and engineering. And the proof is all around us - but science is sometimes stubborn to change it's theories, even ones that were developed in the 19th century. You can cut granite with bronze or copper, and NOT to the precision we find around the world.

Excellent particularly regarding Cuzco and MP
Much better than the first two books of his that I read I read. Particularly the section on Cuzco and MP in which he confirmed my own observations that there was no way the Incas constructed Sasayama, Oleantambu or the beautiful stone work in MP and around Cuzco. His logic about this was exceptional. Clearly there was an earlier and unknown civilization in the area. His chapter on the Bacaa valley was also very good and again no known civilization could have quarried,, shaped and installed slabs weighing up to 1,200 tons precisely and high up in walls. There were things in his long chapter on Egypt that I struggled with. He said there was no way they could work granite as was done in huge sarcophagi and pylons but in fact I have my own picture of a statue of Rameses 2 that is clearly granite and beautifully finished, also the pylons are covered in Egyptian dynastic hieroglyphics.

Essential Reading For Both Students & Adults
It is beautifully printed and very well made book. The large bold font and many pictures make the information very easy to understand.Aside from how the book was printed, it’s the information that is equally as important. Brien Forrester offers substantial proof against mainstream academics historical timeline of human history. According to academia, humans have existed for nearly 200,000 years. And it has only been the last 5,000 years that mankind became civilized. For approximately 190,000 to 195,000 years, humans were just hunters & gatherers living in caves. I find that notion to be almost silly.I highly recommend Aftershock as a must read for everyone.

Good for Peruvian sites, little about coronal mass ejections
I admire Brien Forrester, the author. His knowledge and understanding of the archeological sites in Peru and Bolivia is impressive. He continually points out the indicators of the three different phases of stone construction there which is helpful to understanding the history of the region. His books, unfortunately, including this one come across as notes for a tour guide. His text is somewhat superficial and not the deep investigation that I expect when reading a book of this nature. I expect to see many authorities quoted with references, and although he does occasionally reference items in the text, they are far less frequent than I see in books by Shoch, Hancock, Gardner, Bauval and other researchers into "alternative history". Forrester's books use very large type which, although good for aging eyes, make his rather short books seem even shorter. Although Aftershock is good for looking into quite a few sites in Peru and Bolivia, some of which other books do not cover at all, only on a few occasions does he mention the apparently heat degraded stone, always degraded on the east side, for which this book is named. His premise is that a coronal mass ejection hit the Earth at a time near the Younger Dryas which caused glacial melting and ended the Ice Age. These few mentions are not nearly enough to convince. Robert Schoch's book, Forgotten Civilizations, is much better in this regard. Aftershock is a good reference to the archeological sites in the Peruvian region. It just has little in its pages which refer to the title.

A good summary about the Great Mystery.
The book was written clearly and it was wide-ranging. I was convinced by his YouTube videos that there were, indeed, highly advanced societies that had science more advanced than our own who built the many amazing stone constructions found around the world unbuildable by us today. I also believe him when he says a great catastrophe occurred that created changed climatic conditions robust enough to freeze a Mammoth eating buttercups on the Russian steppes in a standing pose, and to wipe off the face of the Earth everything pertaining to those societies not made of solid stone, and even portions of it were melted in place from some certain direction. But, I bought the book to find out more about the cause of the catastrophe itself, and there was little of that inside, no doubt because there was so little known or even guessed at about it specifically. It must have been horrible, however. I did not regret buying the book. It's full to the very brim with good information and many illustrations and photos.

Interesting Accounts!
Not knowing how the Author was going to present his research, I was captivated by how he interpreted the information found ancient sites. We do have a past that predates normal historical view points. I believe that mankind (us currently) have only begun to explore the depth of how old we really are on this earth. Signs show that we are much older than we think! Keep exploring!

Great book
I loved this book! An easy read and full of wonderful pictures and theories. Not a technical, boring book with information that has little or no value to me. I liked how the author included himself in the script and photos also. Highly recommend.

What happens to our past!?
Love these books where people like Brien out them selfs out there to piece together the past. Not an easy job without criticism. This book guides you through evidence, myth/folklore and other historical references which will change the way you view out so called progressive past. If you are open-minded and spiritual this book is easy to digest so to speak otherwise take in the clues, do your homework and you won't be able to deny Brien is into something quite literally earth shattering!

Awful edition
This review is about the book edition, not about the content, as I haven't read it yet.I feel disappointed that I bougth this book, I usually prefer to buy the kindle format, but I wanted th physical format because reviews said that it had a lot of pictures. Big mistake, maybe pictures could have better quality in a kindle format. The pictures are black and white, some of ther are not even clear on what the author is talking about because of so much shadows. The font is huge! I felt like a bougth a book for kids on how big the font is. I believe that if the font was reduced to a normal reading size, would be 150 pages tops. There are more than 200 pictures in the book, which could be kind of ok if they were in good quality and in color, but no, the quality is not good and they are black and white.I am truly dissapointed of the quality of this book edition.

Awesome book
I loved the book because of its content . so there is proof that an advanced civilization lived on this planet long long ago. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the past and the mysteries of the world.

Very interesting and convincing view on humanity's unsolved mysteries
Highly recommendable. All theories backed with strict evidence including onsite pictures and scientists of all relevant fields. Looking forward to studies on North and Central American pyramids as well as European and Chinese
