A little boot black touch up goes a long way on the Alpha. UPDATE: I had these on my feet for 8 days straight, right out of the box, no break in. This was for up to 12 hours per day on concrete and ceramic floors, sometimes even wet and greasy floors. Metal treads were no problem. Excellent grip. Zero issues then and now. They are a perfect three season boot and are stupid easy to keep clean. Just use a boot brush and some water, then add a dab of black boot polish to the already wet brush and have at it. A little on the zipper goes a long way.
