Plan on buying replacement hardware.
I love almost everything about this rack. Not too big, not too small, feels sturdy, looks good. Using this for a home network with LAN drops in every room. The open design worked well for my purposes. My biggest issue was the mounting itself. First on that, it does come with M5 (not M6 as described) cage nuts and bolts. I was mounting this to some open studs by myself which is always a little awkward. Anyhow, the provided wood screws’ heads were exactly the same size as the holes in the back of the rack. This means that you can’t screw in the wood screws and place the rack over them and slide it in to place. You would HAVE to have someone else hold it in place while you screwed it in. I also managed to strip 3 out of the 6 provided so I went out a bought #10 x 1-1/2in screws to replace the originals. They worked perfectly. I was able to slide the rack right over the top of them which made the mounting take all but 10 minutes with 9/64 pilot holes. After it was mounted, everything is perfect and beautiful.Pros: Cost, value, aesthetics, size, prime delivery, relatively light weight, sturdy.Cons: Hardware (both M5 cage nuts which should have been M6 as well as the awful wood screws)

Great 1st Rack Unit for Newbie Rack Effects Users
I bought this rack unit because I've started to get some new gear for my personal music/recording studio. I currently have an Avid Eleven Rack and a BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer as rack-mount effects.Let me say this unit is a beast and sturdy as a tank. As shown in the pics, it holds my rack FX perfectly with three additional spaces leftover (the 11 Rack uses 2 spaces all by itself) and still has plenty of room to hold my old Mac Mini and my Behringer audio interface (U-Phoria UMC204HD). The top is open, but I found a perfectly sized spare shelf I had to place my HD monitor on top of the whole setup. The rack unit comes with the stabilizer bar already assembled and everything ready to go. In the fairly large box it came in I received the rack unit, a one-page instruction manual in a plastic binder sleeve, and all the necessary accessories bubble-wrapped and zip-tied to the unit itself. Everything I needed, in other words—with plenty of space for cord management and airflow in the back of the unit.Included are enough rack screws, clip nuts, and washers to install 3 or 4 rack-mount effects. It would be nice if they also included enough for the rest of the unit's shelf space (6 rack FX in all), but it's definitely not a deal-breaker and not worth the removal of a star rating. If you're looking to get into rack-mounted FX for yourself, give this bad boy a try. You won't regret it.

Great product, low price point
Not sure why, but was expecting some assembly when it arrived. I was pleasantly mistaken. Came fully assembled, and more specifically everything (except for removable crossbar bar) was solidly welded. Crossbrace does interfere with top slot for anything deeper than a few inches but it’s easily removed and in my opinion unnecessary if you have a 1u product properly secured in the top slot anyway. Crossbrace can be moved to lower side of case in four pre-existing holes. All six slots are numbered. My only complaint would it comes with 3 sets of screws/retainers for mounting your hardware into unit. Would be nice if they’d just go ahead and provide enough screws/retainers for all six slots rather than just three of them. Mark the MSRP up about $0.99 and they’d cover their cost of providing them. I’m OCD, so having all the visible screws/retainers matching would’ve been nice.

For fitting in cramped quarters, these are great.
Having just installed some of these in a closet, the 6U versions work great: the price is excellent, they are lightweight and easy to hang by your self, they include screws and cage nuts, they are deep enough to handle all but the deepest network gear, and they are sturdy enough to do the job. I also like that they have holes for the reinforcing bar in both the top and the bottom, so you can move the bar to the opposite side and then flush mount two 6U racks on top of each other. For the money, I haven't found any that even come close.

Great product - Two main complaints from others were non-issues for me.
A sturdy rack that was easy to install and comes with accessories! If I could give it 4.99 stars I would. Almost perfect. Other reviewers complained about the screws and stabilizer bar. The included screws seemed a little short for going through sheetrock and then into wood. They did not go very far into the wood, but they held and would probably be OK for lightweight items. I happened to have longer 1 1/2 inch screws in my toolbox so I used those instead. The other weird thing about the screws is they are wood screws, the instructions say they are only to be used with wood, the holes are spaced for wood studs, but why were there are also some blue drywall anchors in the bag with the screws? The stabilizer bar does intrude into the top rack position. However, that's where I located my patch panel and the wire holder bar clears it - see picture - had no problems zip-tie-ing thick CAT 6A to it without removing the stabilizer bar.

Great compact network rack with enough room for simple networking setup
The StarTech.com 6U Wall Mount Network Rack - 14 Inch Deep (Low Profile) is a great compact rack with enough room for a simple network setup. Fits in small spaces either on a shelf or even mounted on a wall. Clean and simple. One piece unit, no panels or parts to put together. Finish is very good (nice paint, edges not sharp, not plastered with branding labels). Came with hardware to get started with attaching shelves or components. Other manufacture items (i.e. shelves, switches, patch panel, power bank, etc.). Packaging was great with the unit securely inside a heavy card box. The next rack size up is also a very nice and compact enough.
