Rock sturdy, but not as much versatility as smaller stands.
I got this stand because the high riser I had been playing on weekly was pretty unstable and when it would shake my snare drum would literally slowly wobble away from me throughout the set. This thing is a rock though and is REALLY heavy so if you are looking for something light weight, look somewhere else! However, if you want something super sturdy, this is it!My one complaint, and why I don't give it the extra star, is because it doesn't go as low as I would like. For players that sit low this is a problem. I have to admit, I sit a lot lower than most drummers. I'm not short by any means, 5'9", but when I sit at the set my knee caps are only slightly lower than where I am sitting, and I like my snare head to be just above the level of my knee caps. This snare stand forces the snare head to sit barely out of my comfort range.

This is the most beastly snare drum stand I have ever owned
Man this sucker is heavy! But I love all of the memory locks and the longer snare basket arm. I'm using this stand to hold a 9x13 rack tom over my bass drum and I can get the tom exactly where I want it and its solid as a rock there.

My Favorite Snare Stand
I've been using DW snare stands since 1990. I have multiple kits that use different hardware setups, and this is for a new setup. I like this model because it is mechanical and not prone to a failure of a hydraulic system.

gotta give it to DW
This stand is super heavy, but it is really great. One knob adjustment for every angle of the basket, once you get it dialed in where you want there's a drum key lock for added security. the memory locks are great too.

Rock Solid
I use this for my collectors series snare drum. I love the stability, memory locks, and infinite adjustability. This is what the big boys use.

Very Nice!
I'm not sure there is a better snare stand available without going to hydraulic lift. This really shines when using it as a tom stand to reach over the kick a little better and infinite adjustability. I've been putting off this purchase for a while but I'm glad I gave in.

Simply the best
Best stand for double peddle use, Removal basket enabling quick snare switch. Rock solid, set it and forget it.

Awsome
When I took this snare stand out of the box I seen why it is heavy. This stand is beautiful . I'm attaching a pic.Decide for yourself. This stand is built to last I cant amagine what a 200 dollar stand has that this one doesn't.

Heavy-duty and smart
I bought the stand based on reviews and research. I am not disappointed. On the contrary, I was configuring it at rehearsal set up yesterday, and it occurred to me that the engineering is quite evolved; the top piece, the three drum-holding arms, are on a boom which rotates freely within the quick-lock clutch/clamp mechanism which has a single lever, but the lever itself has a lock which when freed, allows one to reposition it, the lever, to keep it from interfering with your bottom snare head. Perhaps, that is not the best description, but in summary you have complete freedom of movement for positioning your snare. Next, the base allows the legs to splay out quite wide if you like a low snare height (I do). Lastly, the construction is sturdy, durable, top-of-the-line, and professional grade. All in all, the stand is heavy-duty and smart, and after 35 years of playing, I can honestly say it is far better than any other stand I've come across. I imagine you will love it, too.
