Q: Can this be placed in a plastic or fabric type of dog house?

I made a shelter out of a plastic storage container for my cat and it works just fine. I think it would with a fabric one too because the type I bought the heat does not come on until the pet lays down on the pad. The cord is wrapped in stainless coil to prevent chewing. Am extremely happy with it !!! Good quality
