Consistently inconsistent
I purchased this cable 3 times to figure out the quirks of this product. It works perfectly with specific ports on certain devices, but not with all ports on all devices. In the attached picture, it works with the right-side USB-C port, giving gigabit-per-second performance, but it doesn't work with the left USB-C port. I threw away my first purchase, thinking it was defective, when it failed to connect to one of my gadgets. I repurchased my second unit of this product only to find that the symptoms were the same. My second unit of this product worked perfectly with my Acer laptop's right-side USB-C port, but failed miserably with the left-side USB-C port. I purchased my 3rd unit of this product and found that it consistently failed to connect to the left side of my Acer laptop but worked perfectly on the right side. There are no other short, 90-degree OTG cables that support gigabit-per-second speeds. So, this is what we are stuck with.

Mostly worked, still a great cable.
Bought this with two applications in mind: Attaching thumb drives and using a cheap-o endoscope with my Asus Zenpad 8 S. The cable seems well enough made, no complaints with the fit and finish. Works like a charm, demonstrating high transfer rates, with my USB 3.0 thumb drive. However, the endoscope fails to work. The tablet will recognize the scope is plugged in, open the app, then no longer see the scope. Not 100% sure this is the fault of the cable, but the scope woks on my phone. Despite this, I would still recommend this cable.

Great adapter for your needs
This adapter is exactly what was needed for me. I will use it for traveling. I've downloaded movies for when I travel and instead of keeping the the downloads on my cell, I use a flash drive along with this adapter for those downloads. If you use a media player such as VLC media player (Highly recommend) it will recognize the USB C adapter to the flash drive. You can play your downloaded music and movies without incumbering the cell storage. I've used a similar USB B adapter in the past and it worked really well.

If your primary power is a power station, this allows you the mount it permanenly
This short piece of cable between an USB and a USB C connector enables charging of power stations in convenient but inaccessible locations. Nuff said!
