Covers the pool
This one covers the pool, but just. If you need to drain down your pool below the skimmer and return this may not be the cover for you. I cap off the return and cover the skimmer so I don't need to drain and I had about 6 inches left along the sides after installing. I have an older Doughboy pool with wide resin top rails. The cover itself seems to be well made and the top feels sort of rubbery so it should not leak snow melt/rain through. I would get 4-5 years out of a cover here in NW Indiana so the jury is out on durability.

Our 12th year UPDATE
We purchased our cover in 2013. I have done nothing but rinse it with a hose in the driveway each Spring before letting it air dry and finally folding it up for the summer. That is it. Zero maintenance. It is still keeping every drop of dirty leaf water out of our pool. It's strange to write this in a review but thank you! You produce a quality product.UPDATE:After 12 seasons of keeping our pool crystal clear over the winter I finally noticed a small tear where it stretches over the pool pillow. My first thought, WOW what a run. Roughly $85 and it lasted 12 years without an issue. Quality cover. I went back to our purchase history to order a new one and noticed the 15 year warranty. I thought, this can't possibly be covered. Maybe I can get a slight discount on the next order. Nope, FULLY COVERED. I cannot believe it. I actually feel guilty taking them up on it. It was a perfect cover for 12 years. Amazing company. I don't know what else to say. I highly recommend this product. One last comment. Customer service picked up immediately. It was an actual human being and the warranty was processed within two hours. This type of service is so rare these days. Thank you.

Solid cover, would buy again
Overall, I would purchase again. Quality of the cover material, cable, and tightening ratchet are quite good. Placement of the metal o-rings is somewhat inconsistent, though. After one winter, a few have already ripped out. However, the rest of the cover is still in pretty good shape. I will likely only get 3 winters out of the cover ,but that's mostly due to harsh climate.

Highly recommended
Just opened the pool and happy to share my experience. I have an inground pool and used to have the expensive safety pool cover, it's very heavy and hard to deal with. It has decayed and broken and I don't want to spend another thousand dollar for a pool cover. My pool is fenced and I don't have little kids to worry about. So I bought this one. This is a strong cover, but after 6 inches of accumulated rain, the edge started ripping. But I have a plan B. I loosed and extended the rope so that the cover actually sits on top of the water. I had drained the pool water 3 feet below the skimmer line, more than recommended because I was concerned the cover is not water proof and too much rain and snow would raise the water level. Since the cover is very large, it is still able to drape around the pool and overlap the edge about 2 feet. I did use a sump pump to drain the water on top of the cover about every 3 months because there is so much rain and snow. Now I just drained the water on top of the cover, cleaned up the leaves and opened the pool. The cover is not light, but it is manageable. By the way, the cover seems like it is water proof since I can't tell the pool water level has risen or not.

Don't waste your money.
I am disappointed with both the product and the company. I ordered one of these covers 5 years ago and within the second year the cover started showing signs of ripping. So, with a little help of duct tape, I used it for a third time. By season 4 even more duct tape was needed. By the end of season 4 the cover was dry rotted and ripped so bad that I had to throw it out. Here it is season 5 and I thinking maybe It was a factory defect, and I thought I would give the company another shot. I reordered the same cover and after covering my pool, I noticed that the same size cover I ordered last time seems to be about a foot less in width and I was missing the cable ratchet. Directions say, "Do Not Return" and to call the 800 number for any questions, problems or missing parts. I called the number between the time slot giving and get a voicemail saying no one was available and to leave a message. I explained the issues I was having and gave my name and number. I repeated my message incase sometime was missed. It been days and I still have not heard back from them, I am starting to wonder if I ever will.

It was good for 2 years.
Had this cover for 2 years. Our pool gets full sun from sunrise to sunset. No trees for shade or leaves/debris. We use a pillow in the middle and I siphon off water about every week during the winter. When we removed it I rinsed it with a hose, folded it up and stored it in the garage for the summer. We removed the cover this spring and noticed blue flakes everywhere and several small tears in the cover. I probably could have gotten a 3 year out of it but I prefer to not get any outside junk in the pool over the winter. I decided to trash it and buy another. I didn't not attempt a warranty claim but I will if the new one only last 2 years.
