Aroma Durable Die-Cast Flat Single-Burner Portable Electric Range Hot Plate

Got this for Mom to replace an old one that stopped working and she loves it. She said it was just like the old one and that is a good thing. We picked this brand to replace the one she had and liked and because it is a name we trust.

This doesn't get hot enough to robustly boil water or quickly cook a meal. Forget about frying. This is perfect for keeping something hot at a potluck, but not cooking

Turns on quickly but seems that a takes longer then usual for your food to get hot.

First time I used it, I was doing a stir fry in a small wok. It got hot and then it quit me. Just shut down. So I was gonna send it back but gave it another try and miracles of miracles it is resurrected. Indoors it works best. boils, frys, heats stuff etc. Slow to w.arm up and slow to cool down. Outside in a breeze it doesn't hold temp very well. I was roasting coffee beans outside, and it worked but was not as hot as I would have liked. Took awhile to do a couple pounds of beans in small batches. It is an excellent warming plate for food cooked else were. For the price it is useful, but it is not a great cooker
