Outage game changer
I purchased these remarkable lights for my mother, who resides in Africa, and they have indeed been a game-changer. Their versatility is impressive; they can illuminate their surroundings in delightful patterns or as reliable flashlights. The handle is robust and well-crafted, perfect for hanging or carrying around. The design balances elegance with practicality, and the lights’ weight and size strike a fantastic harmony. They are compact enough for a small child to handle, yet they cast a brilliantly bright glow that can light up any space.Charging them is a breeze, taking little time, and the battery life is wonderfully long-lasting. I’m especially pleased that they’re solar-powered, even though I opted not to use solar panels for the initial charging—I fully charged them before first use. When a storm rolled in, I decided to be prepared and took the lights out. I strategically placed one in each room, and the house was drenched in the warm, inviting glow, enabling us to move around quickly and confidently.I’m already planning to buy another set as a thoughtful housewarming gift, as I believe everyone could benefit from having these brilliant lights on hand. They have proven invaluable during our nighttime adventures and unexpected outages!

Great for blackouts too
The lights are versatile. You can use them as a pattern or flash light. I like that there is a handle sturdy enough for hanging or carrying them. I like the look, weight and size. They are not big but shines a bright light. Light enough for a 5 year old to carry it. It charges fast and has has a long battery life. I am pleased that it is solar powered as well but I didn't use the solar. I had them fully charged before use. Was in a storm. Pulled them out just in case. Placed one in each room and the house was bright enough to move around with ease. Will purchase for a house warming gift. After a blackout experience I believe we all can use them. Came in handy.

Great function and value
These work as expected, and at least as good as similar AA battery powered models I have owned. But since these are rechargeable via USB or solar they are far less expensive to run and immediately pay for themselves in one charge or two, compared to purchasing alkaline batteries. The lantern light is very bright and the flashlight is ok but a really usable and convenient bonus feature. I’ve charged them both via solar and USB. I recommend charging initially with USB and anytime they are in frequent use. But leaving them where they will get good sunlight will charge / maintain their charge when not in use. The handles do pop off easily, but also pop back in easily. Overall the performance is excellent and each time I use them after the first time is basically free. You could easily pay as much as the purchase price of one of these At a gas station or camp ground store just for alkaline batteries for other lanterns, but these can charge over and over. Have not subjected to hard use but they have held up very well for a bargain and practically “disposable” price.

Light lasts a long time
Ok.. these were. Or expensive. I won’t be caught again without light next time the power goes out and these are part of the plan plus they’ll make camping trips nice.I ran this lantern down intentionally to see how long it would take. After 24 constant hours it grew dimmer, but remained bright enough to light my way in a dark room for like 4 days. Finally it was dim enough I considered the test over and moved on to solar charging. The solar panel seems oddly under engineered, not even using half of the space available on that surface. I let it charge in the sun for 2.5 days and it did seem to get brighter but definitely not back to the original brightness of a full charge. Avoid setting on a sunny window sill if it’s a single pain.. this thing will get really hot in some cases. I do like that you can use a lantern handle to prop it at 45 degrees to point the panel at the sun.I’ll let this thing charge passively in my basement window in indirect light for a couple weeks and report back. For me all 4 units arrived in working order unlike a few reviews I read.I have not yet tested charging a device from this thing but it only has like 1400 mha so I’m not sure that’s a super practical use for this thing. The flashlight option is nice to have but I would give it up for a better solar panel. All in all; considering the run time I think they’re pretty solid. Would like to see better solar charging in the case of extended power outage but, I imagine if left to charge each day and run only for a few hours each night these would stand a chance of staying charged indefinitely. Wish I knew the watts coming in on the solar.. it can’t be more than .. 3-4? I’m not an expert though.UPDATE - I left this to solar charge for maybe 5 weeks. It simply doesn't seem to happen. The solar panel is either fake, so minor as to basically be fake, or only powerful enough to light up the tiny red LED. I wouldn't count at all on the solar capability of these. Go another way if that's the deciding factor for you. However, they recharge fast and light for a very long time. and they're pretty dang inexpensive.

Worth The Money
Great lights that are quite versatile. Used recently under the kitchen sink. The small size enabled the light to fit in easily yet give out enough light to be able to see while working on the plumbing.I like the fact that it is solar powered. I can leave it sitting out on the desk or wherever room I have it and know that it will always be ready to go when needed. The lights are bright enough that I do not feel like I am fumbling around in dimness. I have used it several times since purchasing them. I purchased the four pack and put in various rooms. I intend to get more and use as stocking stuffers for next Christmas.
