Our Defense Shafts are hand-crafted from the finest quality kiln dried hickory available. The hickory is hand picked to assure quality & prevent imperfections and kiln dried to prevent warping. Our Wood Lacrosse Shafts are a quality shaft that will hold up to the punishment the game places on Lacrosse Equipment. The shafts are hex-cut to fit all makes of heads and come with a head mounting screw. We do not put a finish on our products as we feel it is not necessary. In the natural process of using your shaft the oils from your hands will bring out the natural color of the wood and give it a personality of it's own. However, if you want to finish your shaft with paint, stain, varnish or polyurethane it will not affect the warranty. End caps work work great with these shafts.

Love the stick. It is heavy.
The stick is very heavy and strong. If you are looking for something light that gets the job done this isn’t it. However, you are going to be hard pressed to find a stick that stands up to abuse as much as this one does for the price.

It's an attractive tool with a nice grip in the unfinished state as delivered
Bought this for my son. He didn't have any concern with the weight, and I didn't see any problems where he looked slow or out of sync. It's an attractive tool with a nice grip in the unfinished state as delivered. Personally, I'd probably wipe a little tung oil or Deft lacquer on to bring up the grain and color a bit, but he's going to just roll with it as is.

Broke on second use. Customer service lacking...
The shaft cracked on its second use. Spoke through email with Jim Burd and no consideration for his product failing almost immediately. Was willing to replace it for $28 shipping but that is literally three quarters the cost of a new shaft. Definitely a hard pass.

Solid wood handle
Only complaint is that there were a few spots where minute splintering had started. Had to sand it down some to keep it from getting worse. Looks great with some mineral wax on it

Broke after 3 games
The stick was holding up nicely for my defenseman, but it ended up breaking apart on a pass! It was quite odd, but now he has no stick for the final two games of the season.

Heavy sturdy stick.
Boy loves it!! Boys on other team not so much!! We could hear lots of grunts from the sidelines as they got checked by my son. He likes this better than all his carbon fiber or aluminum poles!

Don't waste your money!We have purchased two of these sticks and both of them snapped in half.
