Works fine so far. No set up was required. Just put in the batteries and go! I have not missed any of the extra buttons from my last remote.

The Apple Remote for Apple HD TV stopped working. A new one was $99. This remote had over 8,000 reviews, and a customer rating of around 4.5 so I figured that even if there are fake/paid reviews, somewhere in there lots of people like the remote. Plus, as a bonus, it was inexpensive.We love this remote. We actually hate Apple’s sliding, flat, multiple function push thing that never works correctly (goes too far L or R, fast forward is wonky, all that typical unreliable Apple weird design stuff). So the click (no noise) button almost made me cry with joy. Plus other functions that Apple doesn’t provide or maybe they are like “double secret probation” options I’ve never been able to figure out.It was pre-paired to the Samsung TV & Apple unit, and I am really enjoying its ease of use and common sense functions. This isn’t a criticism, but I didn’t think to see if it is rechargeable, vs. the 2 AAA required batteries. Not a biggie. The instructions were very user friendly, but somewhat sparse. I sometimes get a pop up on the screen about an HDMI connection (my Denon receiver) and I need to figure out if it can be controlled by this remote. There is nothing to indicate where I can find “Help” online. Still, a great remote at a fabulous price. I plan to buy two more.

Simple set up, just put AAA batteries (not included) it synced with my 2nd generation apple tv and my Samsung TV immediately. I didn't have to do anything. (Doesn't work on 4th gen apple tv)

Writing this to possibly save others some time and hassle. This works well out of the box and doesn't need any pairing to connect an AppleTv. The key thing to know is that this is *not* a bluetooth remote. You must be able to see the AppleTv and point this at it for the remote to work. Maybe I missed it, but I wasn't expecting that and spent some time troubleshooting it because my prior Apple remote that came with the AppleTv used bluetooth.

Put two batteries in and it worked perfectly with my Samsung Monitor/TV and Apple TV, 100% compatible just like the original Apple Remote. I didn't have to program anything or call anyone to help me set it up, it just connected and works perfectly. Perfect size and love the way it is designed.

Works perfectly! It works great on Apple TV A1625 4th Gen. Press the unlock button first on remote and it works perfectly! 🙌🏼

I have an Apply TV 4k. The Original Apple Remote stopped working after a system update. I purchased this compatible remote to replace it. It worked. No issues. Note: The Unlock button does not work for Apple 4K and is not needed to use this remote. Remote requires 2 AAA batteries. Once batteries were in, remote worked automatically. No Learn Remote required. Easy. Only thing noted was that the On/Off/Power button only turned my Sony TV On & Off ( it did not turn on the Apple 4K receiver box). The Menu button on the remote turned on my Sony TV and the Apple 4K receiver box. So, to turn on my Sony TV and Apple Receiver box, we use the Menu button and to turn off the TV and Apple Receiver box, we use the On/Off (Power button on remote). Other than that, it works great! Cheap Alternative for an Apple TV remote!

This remote is probably a great cheaper replacement option for other devices, tvs etc, but not for Apple TV. It does connect and can be used but the only buttons that work with the Apple TV are play/pause, the directional pad, back, and menu (but it literally does the same thing as back, it does not operate like the menu button on an Apple remote). You can't adjust the volume or mute with it and you can't access the power menu to turn the Apple TV off or set a sleep timer, etc. You can fast forward or rewind if you use the directional pad, the dedicated buttons do not work. Material quality is fine, it's pretty light weight but how heavy duty do you really need a remote to be. For $10 I'll keep it because it's for the Apple TV in our guest room and won't be used very often, but I would absolutely not order again or recommend for Apple TV.
