it's not as good as Dawn
Cleans okay but not as well as Dawn. It's also much thinner than other dish detergents, and you may have to replace sooner than you expect because it flows from the bottle so quickly and even with the extra, it's not as good as Dawn.

Don’t waste your money...
This is great if you don’t like suds and like using way too much dish soap.

Buyer Beware: Not What It Used To Be
I am a long time user of Dishmate dish washing soap. By that I mean I began using it more than a decade ago for washing our dishes. When I first discovered this product I was delighted because it was truly gentle on my hands but hard on dirt and grease. My dishes got clean and my hands stayed soft. To qualify my statement I should add here that I wash all of our dishes by hand so I have my hands in hot soapy water 2-3 times a day depending on dishes used.About 2-3 years ago their formula changed and the product became less effective. Still gentle on my hands but not so good with getting dishes clean and the amount needed to do the job almost doubled what I had been using. I know this because I used to buy it by the case and had the old formula to compare with the new.As you can guess, I went elsewhere for dish liquid. When I was shopping a few weeks ago I spotted their new bottle and claims of a new formulation. My hopes that my 'old friend' had returned flared up and I purchased a bottle to give it a spin.Any of you hard core hand dish washers will understand my disappointment when what I discovered in the nice new bottle was even less effective than their previous formula. Still easy on the hands and nice aroma but the amount needed to wash a sink full of dishes equated to having to use about 1/4 of the bottle…so washing dishes 2-3 times a day…..do the math. When I visited their site to see what was up what I found was their recommendation on how to use their product for washing dishes. ( I will paraphrase and those of you who want to check it out for yourself can go directly to their site and read it in their words….) Their instructions were to squeeze a small amount, about the size of a quarter, onto your sponge or dish rag and wash your dish with the rag then rinse in warm water. I am no spring chicken and so it is disheartening to read that this is how our young are being taught to wash dishes.I do hope that there are some wiser young folks out there who won't succumb to this method and stick to the tried and true method of a sink full of hot water and a bit of good dishwashing soap. It will save them much aggravation and money on soap.I know there are smart younger ones out there making their own dish soap and I have now joined in their ranks. Who says an old dog can't learn new tricks! Easy to do and it works! To sum up. If you are looking for the old Dish Mate…this isn't it. It doesn't work on dishes or grease but it will keep your hands soft. If you don't mind going through a bottle every few days then this is a product that you will like. Otherwise, look elsewhere.I so wish I could have written a more positive review but, alas, my expectations were dashed almost instantly upon trying this new and improved product out.As with all things, don't take my word for it. Buy a bottle for yourself and see what the results are for you. It may suit you just fine.
