Creative Hobbies Make a Lamp or Repair Kit - All Essential Hardware, 3 Way Socket, and Matching Electric Cord (Antique)

Upgraded a thrift store lamp with this kit. The lamp needed some paint and new wiring. Looked to be 25+ years old. Turned the whole thing into a lamparium. The kit was easy to use but I did have to google for instructions. Luckily these things are pretty standard. One half of the wire has some ribs, so you know which is which. There are 2 screws, one silver and one brass. So you don’t wire it backwards. Once you have that sorted out, all you need is a screw driver to tighten the screws over the wires. Just be sure you’ve got the wires threaded thru anything they need to go thru before popping the bottom cover on. It can be tricky to get back off but there is a small arrow that shows you where to pry to pop it off. Yes. I figured that out the hard way.Anyhow. The lamp is much cuter now, new parts match my painted parts. And I feel better about the life left in the wiring

I bought this lamp for a great deal several years ago that had a severed cord. I’ve been meaning to take it to a lamp shop to get it rewired until I stumbled on this kit on Amazon. It worked great! I have NO experience at all, but was able to completely rewire and have my lamp working in less than 30 minutes. So much less expensive than taking it a lighting shop!

I gave it four stars because it works and it does what I need it to do.It has one little teeny card with a very small diagram and very undetailed instructions.If you're like me and you're not an electrician and you've never done this before after wiring and rewiring four times here is my advice to you:Read through all the directions before starting!Do not remove the cardboard from the pieces!Make sure to figure out which is the hot wire before you get started, which is the not-fat-plug.Make sure to thread the wire through the bolt the washers the post and the housing unit before you wire the unit. Basically everything and obviously in order.Other than the directions lacking big time for a beginner once you've done it you'll always be able to do it easy peasy!

I bought a vintage lamp that didn't have a working cord. I used this to replace the internal lighting components, it took less than 10 mins to replace and install. Very easy to use. Works well and matches the original color nicely.

This kit comes with many pieces which worked well for my application. I had a converted oil lamp with a broken switch. I was able to use the pieces in this kit and drilled a hole in the base of the original adapter to run tge electrical cord through. Then ran the cord out the old oil fill hole. I placed the original lamp cap in the oil portion so I didn't misplace that piece should I ever wish to return it to use as an oil lamp and screwed the electric piece on to the unit.

Had an old antique lamp that mom loved die. This repair kit was perfect. Easy to insert wires and works great now.
