Great construction phone!!!
I purchased this phone a little over 6 months ago for the FLIR camera and the durability of the built in case and I must say I'm pretty impressed!!! The FLIR camera has been extremely helpful. It takes a few seconds to load but it's worth the wait. There is a bit of a lag but in my line of work it's still worth it. I haven't checked the temp measurement against anything else so I don't know how accurate it is but you can see hot and cold spots in walls so you know where you need to insulate. Used it to measure the temp of machines before working on them. I recently saw the residual heat pattern on a wooden floor from someone that was standing there a few minutes before that was wearing socks. The dogs heard something in the middle of the night and I used it to scan for heat signatures. The dogs lit up on the screen in a pitch black yard but apparently it was just dogs being dogs. The image starts to get blurry around 30 feet but if you know what you're looking for you can still see enough definition to be able to make it out.The built in case is well made however it could use some knurling on the sides or back for grip. The access doors that cover the micro USB and the earbud jack are a bit more flimsy than I would like. There's a small piece of rubber that's used as a hinge. I haven't broken mine but it looks like it would be pretty easy to do. The placement is a bit awkward as well. Looking at the screen they're located on the lower left side instead of the bottom so holding it while it's charging or having the headphones jacked in makes it difficult to hold. Other reviews talked about having the access door on the back pop open when they dropped it. I haven't experienced that but I also haven't dropped it or submerged it in water although it does have a sensor of some kind that detects moisture and asks if you would like to use the "speaker dry" function that comes installed. It apparently works pretty well because having the phone in my pocket on a hot day set it off.The screen resolution seems to be as good if not better than other smart phones I've had. Apps open and close pretty quick. This phone does come with a "Toolbox" app and it has come in handy a few times not having to search around on the play store. It has an actual AM/FM radio. Unfortunately you can't listen to it without having earbuds connected. I'm assuming this is because the cord is used as an antenna. Not sure if you would be able to use it with a bluetooth headset.I'm a bit hard of hearing and this phone is loud enough I can actually hear while using it and hear it ring.Overall it's an excellent phone that's not loaded up with a ton of unnecessary apps right out of the box!

Worst phone with the worst camera I've ever had
Worst phone with the worst camera I've ever had. The first one they sent was junk right out of the box, that should have given me a clue right there, instead I exchanged it and this one works, but not much better.Issues:1. It shut itself off once for a week, no amount of charging or reset button pushes would get it to turn on. Then one day I walked by where it was laying, and it was on.2. The screen is like looking at an old tube TV that isn't coming in very well, that's at best, sometimes the colors on the screen fade like an old pair of jeans, then 20 minutes later it's back to it's normal terrible resolution.3. Don't buy this phone if you take a lot of pictures or video. This function is all but useless on this phone. My blackberry in 2011 took 1080p video and Crystal clear pics. I think Caterpillar bought all of Nokia's old cameras from the nineties and used them on this phone.4. No one can understand a word I say. I don't make phone calls anymore because I get tired of repeating myself. Text only pretty much.5. The software is horrible. File commander takes a full 30 seconds to open pictures and every time they update it there's a permanent message that won't go away until you visit them. Same with ads from other apps on the phone. Pretty annoying indeed.6. The swipe function in text will get every word except the one you want 90% of the time7. The FLIR is neat, but when compared to 2 other phones simultaneously, all three will give different temps, if you need accuracy, buy a real one, this one is more of a novelty than a tool.Overall, this is the second worst$600 I ever spent, the first was an engagement ring in my twenties, she was absolutely crazy, but I'd take her back before I buy another Caterpillar phone. It's a shame too, great idea, piss poor execution. The only good thing I can say is it's tough. I got mad the last time it shut itself off and threw it out of the lift I was working in. It didn't break. I was disappointed
