Can this switcher handle different video formats connected to each input and cleanly switch between them?

I’m still waiting on my unit it will be here and I encourage you to take a chance on it because it’s compatibility with more cameras and check out the reviews on YouTube and when u buy a unit make sure it’s being shipped by DHL ok it’s easier to track it

Can i use a capture card & use it like a conventional video mixer,??

No capture card needed and you can use it as a video mixer and it’s worth the money and I just bought an atem mini extreme ISO and I feel this rig is an awesome starter because of the multi view on the actual system itself and that’s irreplaceable for quick interviews and other small sporting events

Being so small is good, however, how stable is it on a table? Do users employ gaffers tape? Are its feet made of material that 'holds' it still?

It's heavy enough to be stable. I didn't notice any problems that required tape to hold the unit still

can you use a usb to hdmi adapter to convert the usb signal?

Yes and it works with little effort and honestly this system is more compatible than most systems like this because I also own the atem mini and this is very easy to convert with adapters and other cameras
