A beautiful story with no words
We LOVE the Aaron Becker series of Journey books. So much, that we have a set for ourselves, and have given sets as gifts. The artwork is beautiful and tells a comprehensive story without a single word. For children who are not yet reading, the books are a fantastic way to get them talking about parts of a story, learning about comprehension, and how a story can change a bit with each telling. For children who are readers, it can show them the power of art as a story and encourage them to explore detail. Each page includes surprise details with foreshadowing, character development, and expressive emotion. The series should be on every child's bookshelf.

Wow, wow. Magic, this is! Just buy it already!
My kiddos absolutely love this series. We actually bought Return first, based on rave reviews, without knowing there were two prequels. While it is much more fulfilling as the third in a trilogy, my 4 year old enjoyed it and my 3 year old son loved it so much I had to make him a costume so he could be the king (he was especially intrigued by the "bandoleer" for crayons). The illustrations as compelling, beautiful, and they tell the entire story, as there is no text in this entire book. We LOVE it. I can't imagine anyone not liking this book, child or adult.

Breathtaking – you’ll know by the audible gasps when you turn to ‘that’ page.
As the often absent working parent, my favorite part of the day is reading bedtime stories. Without giving away the plot, I have to admit this one tugged at my heart. Mr. Becker’s illustrations have grown more nuanced and even more ready to transport us away. I’ve caught my kiddo simply studying the illustrations in the same manner as she does her David Macaulay books – but this time for context and clues to a larger thematic story. Don’t miss this one, and enjoy discovering details unfold with each ‘reading.’ Our family enjoys telling the tale from the perspective of each character, letting them narrate what is happening each time we read the book. Full of drama, escapades, emotion, and side stories – you’ll find yourselves chatting about this book long after the cover is closed. We have a 3 read limit in a row at our house – otherwise we might not ever get to another book.By the way, plan to add a red ball or a red kite to your shopping list. (We already have a red bike from Journey/Quest). Ready your crayons to explore the amazing world of Mr. Becker’s imagination. Oh, to be his actual children – what a treat that would be.

Favorite Children's Book
This Aaron Becker series is by far my favorite to read to my 2.5 year old. She loves the storyline and the vivid art, but I also enjoy elaborating on the stories myself (there are obviously no words, just beautiful images). But my favorite aspect of these books is the stunning detail and secret "Easter eggs" that can be found. There are numerous small secrets in the book that may be lost on a child or even a careless adult. But if you are attentive, there is a whole world of subtle detail that can be found. Also, my daughter has now taken to "reading" the books herself. She'll flip through the pages and explain back to me what is happening. I wish I had 20 more books just like this one to read to my kids.

) What I like a lot is that there is strengthened connection between ...
Very surprising story after Quest! There are so many turnarounds, which makes it tense and interesting! And again, as seen in both previous books, there are so many details. I think we still need to look if there are more ;)What I like a lot is that there is strengthened connection between parent and child, because Journey (first book) leaves me as a parent with mixed feelings at the beginning. While we (me and kids) look book together, you read (see) how busy parents don't have time for kids that long so much to play with them. While this is life; we as parents also need to do stuff around house, I got feeling in Journey that was somehow pictured as 'bad'. So connecting again was nice part for me and also kids... It's so important message they can rely on us! And after all, parents aren't so boring as they would think ;)I don't need to say how great done are these books and totally doesn't need words, right?

Read/View These Books!!
This is the third book of a trilogy. I was give the second in the series and now own all three. These books are a treasure. They are wordless, but the pictures speak so plainly that the story flows effortlessly. I would urge everyone to buy these books for themselves and for their children. Every time I look at them again, I find something new. The artwork is just stunning and the story of the children and their magic crayons is most imaginative. The books are a wonderful addition to both adult's and children's libraries.

Such a great story!
This is a fantastic book! It's a picture book, and it's so inventive and creative! I "read" it with my niece and she absolutely loved that she could understand the story without having to struggle as a new reader. There are two other books that go with it- Journey and Quest, and they are both marvelous as well! The illustrations are intricate and colorful, and I even went through the books on my own because I loved them so much! Highly recommend!!!

Great series!!
A wonderful adventure for anyone to enjoy. I got this because I have 4 little kids who can't read but love books. I purchased another set (all 3 in the trilogy) for a friend as well. Adorable!
