Great mower, useful features and once correctly installed produces great results.
Purchased this a while ago but have only got round to installing it this month. My garden is probably approaching if not slightly over the 800m2 recommended for this mower, happy to report that despite this it is doing a great job. I had to purchase additional boundary wire and pegs to cover the area I wanted, I got these in a kit off of Amazon, I also purchased a garage for 'Ralph' as well, in theory he doesn't need one as he is water resistant but it does keep the weather extremes at bay and protects the base. My lawn is two large oblongs separated by a path which is only at a level that can be crossed at one end. Half of one is an orchard so due to falling branches apples etc. the robot Ralph will not be mowing this part. In order to mow the lawns effectively I set up two zones by using the mower guide wire, using this facility you can tell the mower to travel along the guide wire a certain distance before starting mowing. I split the time on the two sections so that Ralph spends 60% of his time on the large lawn and 40% on the smaller one, to get to the second area Ralph is programmed to travel 90 meters along the guide wire before starting to mow (this puts him in the middle of the second zone). Initially I had an issue with the mower not learning the guide wire properly it was supposed to follow the wire till it hit the place where it joined the Boundary wire, it did not make it all the way along. A discussion with Flymo technical established that max guide wire is 300m, his includes a section of the boundary wire which is not made clear. Anyway tweaked the length and it works OK now. The boundary wire is the most tedious of the installation process as you have to go right round the perimeter that you want to mow within, a bit of a back breaking job on my lawn but did it in about 4 hours. I also left some spare lengths of boundary as I went in a corner for example so that any changes could more easily be accommodated. It is important that the boundary wire is set at the correct distance from edges and obstacles, a cardboard ruler is included to help. Where the guide and boundary wire crossed the concrete path I cut a groove so that they are out of harms way and not a trip hazard. The mower has been out in all weathers including torrential rain, the only issue was that the really wet grass sticks around the cutting disc, simple enough to wipe away periodically. Security wise they are pin protected and Flymo will only give help with pin retrieval with definite proof of purchase, I have also included an Apple Air Tag as a tracker in case it gets half inched. It will be of no use to a thief but I would want it back of course. It is set to mow from 9am till 18:30 and this is doing a good job, the grass never looks that good in pictures and videos, mine included, but in real life the lawn is looking better and better. It mows for around 90 mins. then pops back for a 60min. recharge before hitting the road again. It is really therapeutic to watch a bit mesmerising, I was using a ride on mower previously but this is way way cheaper given the price of fuel. All in all I am very pleased with Ralph he is a great time saver.

Great robot lawnmower
Really happy with this purchase. Whilst it took some time to set up the boundaries, once it was all in place, it's been really straightforward to set up and to add schedules. I haven't cut the back lawn in 8 weeks. It's quiet, robust and works well. There are times where it can stop if it's lifted up due to items being in the way, but that has been rare.Cost is expensive, but the convenience and time saved was definitely worth it.Charging is also straightforward, as the mower will go to the dock to recharge. I usually have it on from 8am to 12pm, 2 days a week.Highly recommended.

I haven't used my main lawn mower in years!
I really loved the idea of having all my mundane tasks automated / taken care of with a robot and this flymo had really covered the mundane bit!Installing the guide wire honestly had taken every ounce of effort I had, it had been a tedious but very important task. This essentially prep the robot to stay within and also find its way back to the docking station.I have set the robot to max 3 times a week and it is smart enough to know how the grass height, if there is frost on the ground and if it is raining. The app is quite a basic one but its recent update allows better control. The robot can have its software updated using a USB-A to USB-B cable which I try to do once a year. I also have switched the blades a few times which can be done with a screwdriver, super easy!

Should have bought one years ago!!!
As a disabled woman with a huge, odd shaped lumpy, bumpy garden, I spend hundreds each year on gardeners. Not any more!!It took 4 hours to fit the wire's, and a couple of attempts to get it to calibrate and it was trundling around the garden. My dog and kittens just ignore it and move out of the way when needed. It moves slowly enough to prevent any accidents. From the house it can't be heard at all, I let it run over night without issue, or sound, (I live in a bungalow with bedroom at back) and woke to a nicely mown lawn. It was first cut of year and long and thick in places, I thought it might need one last cut from gardener, I was wrong, this little bot coped with it brilliantly. As lawn is so bumpy, I had to put the pegs in very close together in some places, which meant that the 150 supplied weren't enough and had to buy more. Thats the only downside I have so far.My big tip is, set it at highest cut to start, and you shouldn't have any issues if have laid the wire tight and level to ground. If your still on the fence, trust me this little robot really is as good as the reviews suggest.

Not quite an Easilife - more a hard life
Bought this product almost a year ago. The installation instructions were clear and after a bit of tweaking it settled in to a decent mowing routine. As a random pattern mower, it did take a few sessions to cover the entire lawn. The finish isn’t as good as a rotary mower with a roller, although the mulching ensured the lawn was very green and healthy looking. However the lawn never looked as neat. Often I would go over the lawn with the old rotary mower if I wanted it to look neat, which kind of defeats the object of a labour saving robomower. .All this was acceptable, but what wasn’t was the sheer number of issues that arose after a winter of hibernation. As others have reported, the lawnmover seemed to stop randomly and require a PIN reentry and schedule reentry pretty much every day. The lawnmower also failed to dock properly in the charging station at least 50% of the time. The software is terrible - requiring a PIN after every slight mishap and insisting on a different PIN each time.In the end, I reached the conclusion that it actually takes less effort to use a cordless electric lawnmower twice a week, with much better results.I called Flymo tech support (they only work office hours) and after 2 calls and 20 minutes waiting, they failed to provide adequate help. A very poor support experience from Flymo. In the end I returned the product to Amazon for a refund. Amazon were absolutely fantastic in this regard and I will buy my replacement next lawnmower from them.I consider myself to be very technically proficient and an early adopter. However i do think that on this occasion, I adopted a robotic mower too early.5 stars to Amazon, 1 star to Flymo.
