Bought for piano key board connection to PC
Love it, I can now connect to my computer with my piano keyboard. Plug in play, I can now play along to songs using software that helps you learn piano. Good cost, legnth, material. Just what I needed

Absolutely wish I hadn't bought this.
This thing is absolute garbage.It really doesn't work, and I wish I'd had a chance to try it before my return window closed. The folks that make this should be ashamed. Seriously. There's no way they don't know it doesn't work.

Works great and a great deal
It works great with a Windows 10, 64 bit computer with an i7 processor and 8 GB ram using LMMS (Linux Multimedia Studio, which is free, full features, and very extensible) and a Yamaha. This set was fully plug and play. It takes multiple notes without complaint and I didn't notice any lag at all. A computer with less ram and a lower processor might experience some latency though. It is a great deal on this and about $30 less than many others, but so far works just as well.I got this for my budding musician daughter who is having a total blast with it. This setup makes a huge difference in how she is interacting with music and able to convey concepts from her fingers to the computer. Wish I'd bought it for her a lot sooner. Even I had a great time fooling around with it.

It didn't work UNTIL...
For the love of god I couldn't get my keyboard to send a midi signal to my Mac despite my computer recognizing a plugged midi device. After downloading yamaha software, reading manuals, and even requesting a return for the product, I decided to just switch the cables and plug them into the opposite ports... AND IT WORKS. So plug the 5-pin cable that says IN into the OUT and plug the OUT cable into the IN... and voila.

Did not work for one device but worked for another
I'm not sure why, but this worked for one device but NOT for another. I did many tests - both devices work properly with other cables /setups but not with this cable. Did work for one device though - so two stars instead of one.
