Gypsy Witch® Fortune Telling Cards Cards – April 15, 2002

So I’m giving them a 5 based on how they work in a reading. A little getting used to because it’s not a deck I’ve worked with before. Images and words on the cards themselves which is helpful but can also be somewhat distracting until you get to know your own meanings. These are essentially symbols and the symbol is what needs to be contemplated although I think the text is often relevant.. with salt.Here are my complaints: despite being printed in Italy (not China!) the finish on the cards is cheap. Purple on my fingers after first use. They print easily (like finger printing) and I can’t really clean them because the ink smudges. DON’T GET THEM WET! Or even damp as I made the mistake of, using them after I had washed my hands and they weren’t *totally* dry. I also don’t care for the image on the backs. Tacky and disrespectful. The interior images are fine. I like the size of the cards, it’s easy to travel and work with. I am no Lenormand expert, but from what I have seen of other decks I feel like this is the best one. It has all the original cards without any omissions. The images are by far the most respectful and relevant and you certainly can’t beat the price.

Not for the novice. These are not the same as the ones you see in the stores. They have three parts to each card. You'll see the "tarot" diagram along with the explanation and the traditional playing card that corresponds all on the same card when you turn it over. This is to teach you to read traditional playing cards through association.There is a dark side to these cards as they are a literal translation and not really open to much personal interpretation. I have always preferred reading playing cards to the others due to this but gave it up when my kids were young so they were not influenced by my choices and could follow their own path. They both became curious so I started them with the Rider Deck which they both have luck with so I got these for myself to relearn the cards after nearly 18 years.With these, unlike other decks, you want the recipient of the reading to shuffle them and touch them as they will pull on their energy and when they silently "ask" their question their reading will be based on whats in their heart not in their mind. If you consider yourself a practitioner of the lighter side I don't recommend these as they are based off of the Gypsy style and like I said, they have a dark side that will tell you what you need to know not what you want to know. An example is that the death card doesn't mean a new beginning or an ending, it means severe illness/injury and possibly death. Three references to death in one spread means start making sure you say everything you want to say to everyone you care about because you or someone close to you is going to die.So, I do recommend these for someone who is experienced but not for someone who isn't.

They’re ok. I never got em back In the day because I thought they were hoakie and they are but I guess they’re kinda fun. I like the “if next to X, then Y” choose your own adventure mode but it’s kinda common sense. I don’t know you get better art and feel by Just using some tarot or better yet some playing cards. But if you’re young and not yet confident in reading these are cool for a quick read.

I had these back in the 90s. Back then I didn’t appreciate the simple old fashioned art work. I deffinatly do now. They are my go to deck for personal readings and I occasionally use them for professional sessions as well! They are simple and easy to use and so accurate it’s erie! As far as being dark, they have fortunes at the top right corner that are way exaggerated in my opinion. Most that are experienced with these rarely take the fortunes on the cards too seriously and add their own interpretations of course as I do too. The fortunes written on them can be off putting and have an old timey spooky cartomancy twist. Some like this some don’t I find. It uses a type of wording that back in the day was meant to lure customers back for another reading using fear. Not cool back then and still not cool today. But, nowadays if the reader takes the written fortunes with a grain of salt uses intuition and tunes in, they will provide very accurate readings. One definitely has to take the time to get to know the cards in their own language by just playing with them a lot. They can also be used in much the same manner as a regular Lenormand style deck. They are not lenormand however (even though the little pamphlet says they are) but they are an adapted form of the Lenormand. Some love that and some don’t. The great thing I most enjoy about these cards is their old time feel. I also appreciate the fact that the reader is left with freedom to use them any way they choose. This helps to develop a persons own raw psychic abilities This one’s been around for over a hundred years for a reason. I love them!

Exterior box was very worn and beat up, Cards intact and like new.
