I bought these to take out to the barn and use on our ponies. They have very thick, fluffy manes and tails that are very good at pulling the bristles out of the brushes and combs usually marketed at horses. I bought these in the hope that the metal would be sturdy enough to actually lay. Well, not only do they last and work, they almost seem to shine the hair - these are 100% the only mane and tail comb I intend to use on our horses and ponies in the future, and several other boarders at the barn have been asking about them as well.I left one at home and used it on my own hair out of curiosity and again, loved how well it worked to clear tangles easily and smoothly. I didn't expect it at all, but the metal construction definitely interacts with hair differently than the plastic combs that one usually uses.The only detracting factor is that it can be a bit awkward to hold, a wider grip area would be appreciated, the simplicity has its own appeal as well though.

Just started grooming my dogs myself and have used these twice and they worked well. Seem to hold up well.

Awesome bang for the buck!Throw the word “yarn” in front of any word and you too can charge astronomical prices for your stuff!….until someone finds a reasonably priced alternative—like this!Wide apart teeth on one side, narrower on the other side. Perfect! The bar on top makes it easy to hold on to while combing roving. It is practical and pretty to look at. Another double whammy!Combing roving is like combing your pet’s hair with exception to the fact that your animal’s fur is still attached to the critter. Roving is shorn-off wool. Nothing attached to it.Did I get you to want to comb some roving?? 😉

They seem pretty sturdy working easily through my Aussiedoodles double coat.

These work very well. I liked that it came with 2. One for home and one for the RV.
