Wonderful Versatile Microwave Cookware
I've made rice, pasta and lots of popcorn very successfully.I have an 1100 watt microwave. It looks like the instructions are for a 600-800 watt microwave.Cooked brown rice according to instructions (full 1100 watts) and it was too dry and I had to add water and cook it some more, but it ended up very light and nice. Next time I think 80% power will work better.Cooked pasta at the high end of the time on 80% power and it came out just right.Cooked popcorn 2-1/2 to 3 minutes on high.It is true that there was residue on the microwave plate after both rice and pasta, but just a little and it cleaned up easily.I think this is a great cooker and much much easier to clean that a big pasta pot.

Great Cookery
This the the second one of these ive owned. I can be a bit forgetful and managed to melt the last one but not by product fault. I bought another as soon as i could. Its a great way to cook rice and vegetables but my favorite thing is being able make popcorn without the use of oil. A must have in my kitchen.

Sturdy multi-tool
I bought this to make popcorn and it works great, so easy to clean up too. I'd suggest using just 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels at a time, which seems to fill the container after 2.15 minutes in my microwave. The directions that come with it call for 1/2 cup of kernels, which would probably overflow the bowl. Look forward to using it to steam food as well. I don't feel like it will melt, and it didn't give of any plastic smells. Should last a long time.

I've had and enjoyed similar products in the past. This started leaking almost immediately, and has to be put into abowl to keep from flooding the microwave.

which is a crappy low powered microwave
it's thick plastic and too tall for my microwave, and it takes 20 minutes in mine, which is a crappy low powered microwave. but if you have a tall high powered one, maybe it will work for you.

Great microwave cooker
I bought this product to microwave rice. It does a great job. the rice is perfect. Then my husband bought a bag of popcorn to try it and it works as well as the expensive microwave bags you can buy. And it is very easy to clean - either in the dishwasher or the sink. We use it in our motorhome and our house.

Overflows in microwave
This rice cooker overflows in the microwave. I've had it for a couple years now and only used it twice because it's a pain to clean up. The rice does come out nice and fluffy though.

So so
The first time I used it for rice I didn't read the directions thoroughly and neglected to put the steamer lid on. About half way through the suggested cook time it started to fill the place with smoke; a holocaust. After reviewing the directions it worked alright. The rice was dryer than I prefer and some had accumulated in the center dimple of the bowl and clotted. I would not recommend it but, on the same coin, I wouldn't slam it. It's cheap and will do in a pinch. (01/06/2012) I sent it to the thrift store.

Not durable
Started using this product in August every couple of weeks. After 2 months of use the left locking piece is broken which renders the product inefficient. I am not impressed!

Handy kitchen gadget
Purchased primarily to pop corn. Be careful with the times listed in the instructions and your microwave. The first attempt yielded popped corn with some scorching. Figured out the best time (4mins30sec for my microwave) for a cup of corn kernels.Tested making a cup of rice, need to experiment with the time setting again to get the rice cooked just right. All in all, handy kitchen gadget for the price.
