GREAT KIT but no detailed instructions
So cute and great kit with everything you need!!! Has all the tools to make your own candles. The only criticism I would give, but I don’t believe it’s worth removing a star for it is the lack of detailed instructions. It doesn’t say how much wax to use (there are 4 bags and 6 small containers), but I read online that you pretty much measure how much dry wax you can fill in your container, times 2, ok that was fixable. It also doesn’t say how much dye or essential oils to use (it says something like “enough” or “the right amount”... ok what’s the right amount?). It’s great to leave room for creativity, but as it’s a kit for beginners, maybe have a “range” like between 6 drops and 12 drops or something like that.No instructions for the use the thermometer. I guessed I’d leave it inside the wax until it stagnates more or less. And lastly the broiler (once again no instructions), is great if used alone on the stove (do not hold it without gloves, handle gets hot, or wait till it cools down), but not great if used as a DOUBLE broiler (with another pot filled with water underneath), because it will tilt to the side and keep moving and still gets hot, just not very practical. I tried it alone, worked great. The little stickers for the wick don’t always work, I found using wax is better: Dip the bottom of the wick in the melted wax, then stick it to the bottom of your container, wait a while (maybe a good 15min), then you can poor the rest of the wax (you have to wait till it cools down anyway so it times out perfectly).

Great package and experience, lacking in clear instructions (provided in this review)
Purchased this as a stay home gift for my wife. It really is a fun experience but the instructions were lacking. First - the package is all inclusive, includes a 500ml mixing pot, wax, digital thermometer, 6 beautiful candle tins, 6 scents, droppers, glue, wicks, etc. However the instructions do not measure up to the package. For example, it does not tell you how much wax to melt or how much scent to use (it says use the “right amount of scent”. We wasted one candle just to learn the recipe. Here is what I recommend: pour enough beeswax to fill the pot to about 180ml line, heat until fully melted but not boiling. Take it off the heat, pour in dye, mix, and then pour in scent. We used roughly half a bottle (5g) to create a single scent candle. You could also mix the scents but would recommend keeping it to 5g total liquid otherwise candle will overflow. Once you mixed the scent in, pour into the candle tin and let it set. We loved the rose and lavender so much we used the scents twice to create two lavender and two rose scented candles. Eucalyptus and ocean smelled a little too chemically. Lemon was also really good.

A fun thing to do with friends/ A great 1st Step to Candle making
This is a fun activity to do in an evening, with friends and a glass of wine ... The kit has 6 tins (4 oz) - adorable tins, with a nice assortment of fragrances. The kit comes with everything that you need. I was going to surprise my boyfriend and make him a candle, and let my friends keep the candles that they made ..The instructions that come in the kit are not very good - there is a section that says something to the effect "add the right amount of fragrance". WHAT?Fortunately there is a video that helps fill in the holes; answers to questions on the amazon website - and in connection with these, and the directions that come with the kit, we were able to figure it out fine. There are six vials of fragrance (we loved the ocean, lavender and rose scents).; enough to make 12 4 oz tins. (the kit comes with 6 tins, so you will have extra fragrance :) ... We learned from reading the questions on the Amazon web site that one vial is enough for two candles - thus it is easiest to make two candles at once, using one vial of fragrance and not worrying about measuring. There are 3 bags of wax. You have to measure the wax. Your are told to melt 4 oz of wax for each tin. For some reason, each bag is 7.5 of wax (and not 8); when each tin is 4 oz.... thus you do need need to do a bit of measuring. The wax takes a bit to melt. If you do it on the stove / using the double broiler method, it's a little awkward but do-able if you don't have a free standing burner like the one used in the video.I originally was going to make two lavender candles, but when I put the dye in - what I thought was purple - it turned out it was a very, very, VERY deep blue. I scrapped using the pink / purple flowered tins that came in the kit, that I had already glued the wick in....and ended up using a larger, blue vintage glass that I had. I added more wax to try to get the wax less dark, and added the ocean fragrance. All in all, it was a very fun activity to do with friends and a terrific introduction to candle making.

Doesn't have proper instruction making it hard to use. But looks good, came fast and smells nice
This product is very nice. I just got it today it came fast and in nice packaging. I unpacked everything and it's all there which is great. The tins look pretty and the scents all smell great. I'm excited to get working on it. The only down side and it's a rather big one is that there is very little instruction. As you'll see in the pictures I have the book is incredibly vague. It says pour bees wax in pitcher and heat but doesn't say how much not even an estimate. Then it says to use the wax dye but again not how much is appropriate to get the color to really show. And finally it says to put in the right amount of fragrance but doesn't say how much or even a suggested amount. So basically you get this kit and have everything to make a beautiful good smelling candle but can't make it because you have no idea how and the instructions are useless. So I need to now go look up about how much wax, dye and scent I should put in for the size tin I have to make a good candle. I'd still get this again because it did come fast, in good packaging, everything is there and looks and smells great it's just they don't give any instruction and most people getting this are first time candle makers like myself and now can't use it without doing a ton of research to figure out how to make them properly. Real instructions would be great. Otherwise a good product.

Small kit
The melting pot is pretty small. The gauge metal is good, and the measuring lines are nice to have. The rest of the kit is all small accessory style tryout stuff. Bang for the buck is the killer for me I guess. If you just want to one and done and don't have any idea where to start on candle making, (i.e. go to YouTube and learn about it first) then I guess this is a good starter kit. I wouldn't buy it again, nor recommend it for the price.
