Informative, but has a few mistakes.
PRO - Contains information on some of the basics of biology that students need to learn. It has a few dozen images which help understand the complexities of cellular and molecular scale. Affordable.CON - There are spelling mistakes and some wrong information, clearly printed by an amateur group. I couldn’t find information on their ownership group “NurseEdu.com” or the publisher “Nedu LLC”. The pictures are black and white which can be confusing when learning biology and chemistry.OPINION - I think the book is good for beginners by categorizing the information. Despite a few spelling and factual errors I’d recommend for learning at an affordable price.

A bit of a muddle
This book spends too long on simple things, and too little time explaining clearly the difficult, IMHO. And in some places, makes errors that could have been picked up by better editing. For example, on page 52, it says, "All neutral atoms have the same number of protons and neutrons." "Neutrons" should be replaced by "electrons." For someone newly coming to this material, this could be seriously confusing.Or on page 62, one finds "The dotted line between the bases in the middle are where these hydrogen bonds are located." But there are no dotted lines, and, worse, the concept of "bases" hasn't been introduced yet. The subsequent discussion of protein folding, and the forces which determine protein shape, is sketchy and confusing. In the next paragraph, we get, "the oxygen atoms and the hydrogen atoms on the amide parts of the protein..." But there has been no definition, or explanation, or even mention, of an "amide," prior to this sentence.

Enjoyable book for someone interested in biology
Brought as a gift for great grandson, who is interested in biology. I skimmed through the book, it was easy for me to read. Just not sure about a 12 yo.

Good review
A perfect review for me, a person who used to tutor biology but is now 73.
