Excellent
Like all the other CDS I have purchased from Amazon the case was broken, however the disc itself is in perfect condition and plays flawlessly. The entire CD is excellent but honestly I bought it for the track titled Blackmail. 😎

Unheralded classic
Got this promptly from the seller, and it arrived in good shape, although not in shrink wrap. The album itself is one of Robert Palmer's best, and there's an unmistakable vibe of Lowell George and Allen Toussaint throughout. The opening medley is worth the price of admission alone. Being a Japanese import, there's scant information in the accompanying booklet. The enclosed lyric sheet is English on one side and Japanese on the other.

Good service again from you folks.
Again I am pleased with the speed of delivery. The CD is a welcome addition to my collection.

Great album and the 2021 remaster sounds awesome.
Robert Palmer’s first solo album post Vinegar Joe, finds him tackling a great mix of originals and covers featuring members of Little Feat. It’s one of Palmer’s greatest albums IMHO.The 2021 remaster is the best version on CD. It’s dynamic, warm and has a nice sound to it. Sadly, no bonus tracks (there were outtakes and b-sides available on a previous version. When will we get true deluxe editions of Palmer’s albums?). The Japanese reissue has an insert with a replica of the original inner sleeve with lyrics for the songs and credits. The CD glossy itself is blank on the inside. The Japanese coild hwve repurposed both for a booklet instead but it’s not a negative e necessarily.I can’t recall if there is a lossless download of this album with a current mastering. If there is and it sounds good to you, get it. If jot, get this as it sounds terrific and, I suspect, like the Elton John Japanese reissues that came, out a couple of years back these are new mastering.

What a legendary debut album!!!
I was 16,17 years old in 78,79 and would hear side 1 in the middle of the night. I fell in love with this album instantly and felt it was never played enough. I'm impressed with the quality of this Japanese reissue and highly recommend the cd version.

Sneakin‘ Sally…
…auf CD. Japan Pressung.

The first solo album by the late singer/songwriter/producer
Robert Palmer would make better records later, but his debut solo release shows signs of a promising career. ‘Sneakin’ Sally through the alley’ (1974) has an organic Boz Scaggs/Hall & Oates/Average White Band type of production with a mixture of soul and funk. The first 3 songs play non-stop as they are segued together. I had already heard the title-track (by Alan Toussaint) on Robert’s 1982 album ‘Maybe it’s live’. ‘Sailing shoes’ sets the mood as an effective album opener. Not all of the 8 compositions are great (‘Blackmail’ for example). It took a while to get used to the 12 minute piece ‘Through it all there’s you’ but the musicianship won me over in the end.My attempts to compare this album with ‘Atlantic crossing’ (1975) and Rod Stewart’s star quality proved futile. Anyway, by the eighties both artists were on an equal footing (commercially). Oddly enough, Rod’s 1984 album ‘Camouflage’ offered his own takes of ‘Some guys have all the luck’ and ‘Can we still be friends’.This is a high quality Japanese import. A folded sheet inside the CD insert contains English lyrics.
