VERY nice knife...
I saw a similar type cleaver chef knife on tv a few years back. Recently I received a catalog with a similar knife for around $80.I thought then what I thought before...why would I need this? At this point, this is usually where I come up with a reason...I checked Amazon and of course they offer about 100 Serbian Ginsu Ninja Chef knives.I found this one, and I had a 20% discount. I got a great deal and the knife is extremely well made. I can't believe the quality even at full price..Nice balance.. straight alignment...So the next problem...where do I put it? It's gotta be at the ready for chopping and cleaving at a moment's notice! So cut a groove in one of my knife holders and VIOLA!Great priceVery nicely made.Recommended if you can rationalize needing this type of knife. I need it now. I didn't need it before I bought it!

Feels great
Comes very sharp and feels great. Be careful as the weight makes it easier to cut. Don't put in the dishwasher.

Good knife, just not for me.
Just received this knife today here are my impressions and thoughts.I like good tools. I need them to earn a living and I've learned to have the best tool for the intended task. I don't work with knives, but the premise is the same.As with every tool, it needs to be used with a specific purpose in mind. My intent was to use it as an all round knife for prep and chopping tasks. The large flat blade will be perfect for scooping and transferring veggies after they're chopped, and slicing perfect coins or ribbons if I want to. In theory. It might perform well, but I think this knife is more of a cleaver because of its weight. It's heavy, and I could see someone (me) easily tiring if there is a full meal worth of prep to do. The balance is off and the proportions seem generally odd though, which is what gets me about this knife. If it was a large rectangular cleaver, I'd understand the heft. But with the tapered point this knife is expected to handle delicate tasks like coring a tomato then chopping it into a nice dice. Or shaving this slices off a garlic clove, and maybe a cucumber. But it's heft sheds confidence in scoring and slicing and leaves it to more brutish tasks like killing an already dead chicken thigh. The handle could use another 1/2" of length for my size XL mitts, and the thick heavy blade makes it very front heavy which is fine if you want to carry weight in a cleaving action. Not so great if you want to slice and dice with balance and ease.In short, it will make you work for results. That's not what I wanted. I want a willing partner in a tool, not a mule that needs to be stubbornly directed from task to task.I figured I'd give it a shot for the price, but I'll spend a bit more for a more refined blade with better overall balance for chopping and prep tasks, and leave this one to the cleaving. I think it could be great in that task for someone with medium sized hands.

My husband and I purchased a different knife before which he accidentally bent the blade 🤔 this one I replaced it with is much nicer 😀easier to hold, quality craftsmanship( we have not cut bones because we want to keep it)

Wow!
This is a SUPER SHARP knife! Cuts so smoothly! It's heavier than I expected it to be but that's not a problem.

Second use, already rusting
I understand it’s a cheap knife, but to have a kitchen knife… ANY kitchen knife rust is not acceptable for me. My camping 5 dollar special disposable chefs knife doesn’t even rust

Ah. It needed some sharpening. Otherwise, a very good buy.
I said it already. A good buy, it just needed a visit to the wetstone
