I love the For Dummies books and this one maintains their standard. Great info, easy to read and use as well as easy to understand.

Great book for beginners

This book was read prior to an in depth gardening book and I feel as if it was a great introduction to the subject. Reading this book before a real serious gardening book was a great companion as it touched based on a wide variety of topics so once explained further in detail I had a good basic knowledge from which to build on.

Book is full of information about gardening. I am a novice gardener. I will definitely purchase other books from this company.

Great fundamentals of gardening - purchased for my mom who is trying to get into gardening and she said it was very helpful.

Though on the co.uk site, this is an American-biased book. Hence if you're a U.K. gardener, all sorts of references within will be void. Should be made clearer - I gave this as a Christmas present and the recipient was very disappointed when leafing through to find the U.S. Basis for the book.

It's okay, but there is a lot of black and white text and not enough encouraging colour photos. Also, it is American, and uses different terminology as well as talking about their climate zones. I bought it for my daughter who has just bought her first house with a garden and wanted basic information, but I don't feel this is a good book for her.

Although I know a little bit about gardening you can never remember everything, this book is great, it explains how to do various things - seeding, taking cuttings, problems etc. I found found it very useful and would recommend this book to anyone who is not an expert

Not enough picturesI love these Dummies books and have several - but unfortunately - I would have liked many many more pictures for the subject matter....

This book is perfect for the first time gardener! Took a little longer than I expected for it to arrive (6 days). This was a birthday gift and did not arrive until day after birthday. Other than that, I was very satisfied.
