This works well as a substitute for milk in cereal. It's not too thick and the flavor is nice.

**Update 4/2/2018**: I'm upgrading my review back up to 4 stars, but with one caveat: Make sure you get the newest "Carb Control" version rather than the older "Live Lean + Toned" version of this product. The new version (which says "Carb Control" on the package) goes back to the original formula, which is really good. I would happily give that 5 stars, except for the fact that (even after all this time) Amazon is still not guaranteeing you won't get the "Live Lean + Toned" version, which is slimy and disgusting. So if you order and receive a version of the product that says "Live Lean + Toned" on the label, don't drink it - just send it back.======================**Update 5/10/2017**: Amazon is still selling both versions, and will not guarantee that you will get the good stuff ("Carb Control") rather than the disgusting, undrinkable stuff ("Live Lean + Toned"). Abbott should do the right thing and just recall the "Live Lean + Toned" version rather than continuing to sell this nasty, slimy stuff to an unsuspecting public. My advice: Don't buy any of this until they guarantee you'll get the new stuff, or if you do buy it and get the "Live Lean + Toned" version, send it back. My 1-star review was for the "Live Lean + Toned" version, which they are now discontinuing.If your thinking of buying this, make sure you get the (upcoming) "AdvantEdge Carb Control" version of these shakes - not the "Live Lean + Toned" version (which is the one that has problems).For the record, Abbott/EAS has been very responsive to my concerns and to those of the other folks who had issues with the "Live Lean + Toned" version, so that speaks really well for their customer focus and followup. I would like to say thanks to Abbott for how well they've handled this problem, and I'm looking forward to being able to buy the good stuff again!!!======================================**Original Review from September 2016**: I used to really love the EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control shakes, but the new "Live Lean + Toned" version is awful. Every one I've opened has clunks of slime clogging the opening - I guess that's unmixed "protein". Yuck. Then the rest of the shake is about as thin as skim milk, and no matter how much you shake it, it still doesn't mix, so it's all pretty much like skim milk with floating chunks of slime.At first I thought maybe I just got a spoiled batch, but they all seem to be this way now. I'm not sure why they changed the formula, but the new stuff is undrinkable. I'm dumping it out and cancelling my "subscribe and save" (I was ordering 2 dozen a month of the old ones).If you're thinking of buying this product, don't. If you're still not convinced, maybe try 1 shake rather than buying a dozen. That way you won't be dumping the rest down the drain like I'm doing.=======================================**Edit 10/19/2016**: In response to the manufacturer's comment, I called EAS/Abbott to discuss the problem, and they offered to send me a refund. They were interested in the lot number from the packages, but unfortunately I had already thrown them out...so if you have a similar issue, it's worth talking to the manufacturer (and keeping the bad product so they can trace the issue). I still will not be buying this "Live Lean + Toned" version, and I really wish they'd just revert to the old formula, which I always really liked. Anyway, thanks to the manufacturer for at least offering a refund, and for listening to my concerns.

I am insulin resistant and I have tried to work out and lose weight with no results. My doctor told me the only way I was going to lose weight was to decrease my carbs and increase my protein. I have been using these for a few months now and I have lost 11 pounds. I started with just one in the morning but now I do one in the morning and one at night. I love the chocolate and the strawberry!

One person person here to complain about the new formula. I drank 2+ of the old ones a day. This doesn't taste half as good. Worse, this latest order shipped to me -- is clumpy! Even if I try to blend it, it doesn't blend completely. Disgusting.

Some of the packages were fine, but most were expired. They had thick and gooey strings of gunk in them. Thank goodness I poured them into a glass otherwise I probably could have gotten very sick. Do not recommend buying this, you're better off buying their powder making your own than buying packaged and potentially expired shakes. I tired making contact with the company and they were disinterested in my story, possibly they have heard this complaint too many times?

I've used this product (only the dark chocolate one) for a few years - Suddenly, Amazon was not stocking it - The other sellers, both on Amazon and just googling it were so much more expensive. I've been checking Amazon every few days because I assumed they would restock it, so just put in an order for 3. Tastes great - although it does say not to freeze them, I actually freeze 2 when I know I'm going to the pool that day. It melts rather quickly, I give it a few shakes and it tastes just as good. This product REALLY SHOULD BE COLD when you drink it. It tastes go much better.

I used the AdvantEDGE shakes for years specifically because the primary ingredient was vegetable-based protein (soy and pea). The new formula is whey-based. I am allergic to whey protein. I do not know of any other suitable ready-to-drink product on the market. These used to be great for me -- I could throw them in my bag with a protein bar and be ready for the day. Very frustrating.

I absolutely love this stuff. Way better than other low carb drinks because it's less sweet than the others. Flavors are great and great for an on-the-go snack/meal. I take them to work with me.

Something is wrong with this newer batch of strawberry...ordered once before and it was delicious. This new batch is "curdled", lumpy and downright gross!! Fortunately, I contacted Amazon, and they shipped me out a case of the chocolate fudge flavor without question or having to send back the disgustingly textured strawberry and all is well
