This is a 2002 daily calander, but the puzzles are fresh and the price is very low,

I've been buying these calendars for years, and they do not disappoint. I'm glad they've switched from a plastic base to a biodegradable cardboard one. (I do wish they'd reserve the harder puzzles for the weekends, though, when I have more time!)

I was hoping for logic-style puzzles, and there indeed are many of those, which are great. But there are also some that require more than basic vocabulary knowledge, which relates to a person's level of education more than their critical / logical thinking and problem solving skills. But overall I'm pleased with it, and I would be willing to buy it again in the future.

I don't know if the puzzles are intended to increase in difficulty but the ones I tried seemed to be at the higher end of difficulty level. I tried only about 7 of them in August/September/ October with the intent of using them for HS math classroom warmups. Didn't use any in class because puzzles were more like cyphers with three levels of decoding and certainly not accessible to every learner therefore not a quick brainteaser which is what I was looking for. Many took several minutes just to decipher the directions. Actual puzzles I tried were harder than samples shown on-line. Easily need 15 minutes to solve even when directions were straight forward, but occasionally confusing directions for puzzle. Answer key for each day on the back of every puzzle which is extremely helpful. Might be good for someone else's needs but didn't fit my needs.

My favorites include figuring our what numbers fit which squares in a grid and where stars can be based on arrows and counts, also in a grid. The verbal tangles are not as easy for me.

I purchase this every single year, and have it on my desk at work. I have been buying this for many years, and look forward to doing the puzzles or questions each day. Some are pretty straightforward, while some actually give me quite a challenge, and have me breaking out my notepad to work out some of the answers.They stay pretty consistent with the style of questions, just changing up how they are asked. But the daily dose of brain stimulation is much appreciated each day at work!

Wife loves these, makes for good Christmas gift.

The maths are easy O level and some of the word puzzles need interpretation into American and/or slang. The clues are sometimes poorly worded. Also, the puzzle structures are constantly repeated.Avoid.
