Leather Bristles Studs & Acne

I liked this more than City Baby Attacked by Rats. It is short, but is bolstered by some songs from early singles - which unfortunately are the same bonus tracks on the City Baby disk. I was really surprised by the songs Lycanthropy and Necrophilia - subject matter more akin to the emerging metal scene - it makes me wonder if GBH had gotten a wiff of Venom. Even the name of this Ep reminds one of Venom's "Women, Leather and Hell". Perhaps Venom was influenced by GBH as well. One line in Necrophilia even sounds like an early attempt at death metal vocal style. Their style is tight and fast and one can hear the Motorhead influence. They certainly anticipated speed metal in many ways. Speed and Thrash metal owe something to GBH as well as Discharge - they're something like older cousins. Favorites are still "No Survivors", "Sick Boy" and "Self Destruct" which are a part of the bonus tracks, but liked "Race Against Time", and "Freak" from the EP proper along with the first two songs I already mentioned.

Growing up in the 80's was a blast along with the music. Shipment arrived fast and the music is excellent!!!

An excellent mini LP, but since this was released way back, Colin's voice sounds a little deeper before getting his heavy metalish voice and sounds like a demoish sound as well. An excellent song that was only released in the Captain Oi version is the excellent Alcohol. this song wasn't released in any other CD version of this CD. recommended for everyone who loves GBH.

This is simply one of the best punk albums of all time. Relentless energy, mic attack, and some humor. The running tape between cuts is as a classic. No substitute.
