Autonomous car deaths
This is fast paced detective novel which is entertaining and at times quite humorous. For my taste, it needs some more padding out with detail. For example, the DCI is described as on the slight side but that's about it. What colour hair? What does he wear? etc. The same goes for his Sergeant and CSIs who are often mentioned but never described. Nit picking on my part but I do like to have a scene in my head so I can hear the characters footsteps, be it on gravel, concrete or pine needles. I will definitely read more of this series of novels.

Don't trust anyone!
A complicated story with Harry McNeil and his DS Alex Maxwell, spending a lot of time chasing their leads. Murder and corruption among the big bosses of a high powered company. I liked the story until it got a little complicated with people's names and jobs changing. U.K. intelligence enter the fray to add a bit more confusion but reading some pieces again it becomes clearer, nevertheless this was an excellent story -- I didn't fathom the ending though !!

Read from book 1.
I gave the first book 3 stars but read more of this series and they get better. Too much written about the streets of Edinburgh, rather like listening to a sat nav. I was surprised having read DCI Harry McNeill first, very good, but have now read book 5 which is shorter and I shall definitely read the series.

The best one so far!
…and I’m including Book 11 (which I accidentally read first and didn’t enjoy) in this. Great and very topical story - with some first class twists, the sinister villain avoiding detection until the end and one killer turning out to be unexpected. Onward.

Could not put it down
Excellent book, reading it on my kindle cannot put it down, to the point picking it up during the night if I wake, same as I did with Sticks and Stones, read both books in less than a week Story line had lots of twists and turns, thought I knew what was happening until the very end, I got it wrong. Brilliant. Now started reading Dead Before you Die.

Hi tech murder..or is it?
Detective Harry McNeil had a new mystery murder to solve. Futuristic travel and safety feature in this one, with a few twists. I think I have found a new enjoyable series to read. Thanks John Carson....now book 4

Back to Back Brilliance
Only the second book in the series but Scottish Noir doesn’t come any better. Harry McNeill and his motley crew unravel the mystery with a few bodies, a bit of banter and a hint of romance along the way, all set in and around Edinburgh.

Highly intriguing
Another gripping episode in the crime fiction series featuring DCI Harry McNeil and his team of detectives. With an extremely complex plot, concerning artificial intelligence and murder, this is an edge of the seat thriller.
