The reviews on this item are incredible! People are angry because they're saying this blanket isn't actually "sandproof". What an absolutely insane thing to believe. When the manufacturer says it's "sandproof" they don't mean it's some Harry Potter magic that repels and prevents sand from ever getting on the blanket, it means the sand comes off easily and is easy to clean, and it is. You don't need to worry about it tracking sand into your car or anything after you give it a good shake, the sand comes off and doesn't stick to it. When somethings waterproof, it doesn't mean water can't touch it, it means water won't damage it or get inside of it.Sand WILL get on this blanket, it does not defy the laws of physics. It is not a magical blanket powered by wishes. The sand is easily removed by shaking it off.This blanket also will NOT fly, will NOT make you invisible, and it will NOT give you powers of telekinesis. You can sit on it at the beach and clean it easily though.Sorry to burst anyone's bubble.

Pros: Lightweight, easy to fold, doesn't blow away if you use the stakes. No problem fitting it back into the pouch. Takes very little room to pack.Cons:: At the beach, in the sun, this thing gets blazes hot. It got so hot that you couldn't sit in it without putting a towel down first. It saves the towels from being super sandy, but don't rely on this for sitting or laying on the beach!

The mat just arrived and I can already tell I am going to get a ton of use out of it! My favorite thing is how little space it takes up when in its pouch, and how light it is. When you're loaded down with beach gear, the last thing you need is another bulky thing to lug down the sand. The pouch can easily slip over my wrist, or I can use the attached carabiner to hook onto a backpack or sling bag. I also love how it comes not only with pockets you can weigh down, but also has stakes.Plenty of room for 2 adults...personally I don't ever want to be as close to other people as the 4 girls in the product photo are ;)My husband and I like to picnic, and we used to set up our blanket on top of a tarp (to prevent dampness from the ground getting through.) This is a much easier-to-carry alternative to the unwieldiness of a tarp (plus doesn't make annoyingly loud crinkling sounds whenever you move around). Because it doesn't take up much space, I am putting it in the trunk of my car, so it's on hand for any impromptu picnics.I can also see using this as a tablecloth on a picnic table, or even as a makeshift poncho if caught in a rainstorm.It is thin, so if there are any durability issues I will update my review accordingly. As of now, just looking forward to the warmer weather so we can put it to use!

If you search through the q&a or reviews, folks will say this blanket does not get hot. The product description on Amazon says “the cooler colors keep this from getting hot”. But when I received the product, the brochure says it is normal that the blanket will get hot. So does it get hot or not? I’ll update when I take this to the beach and find out.

I love this blanket. It's super light and easy to fold, you can anchor it in sand at the beach or in grass at the park and it stays put. It's waterproof so even when laying on moist grass you will stay dry. It is also huge! (See my 7-month old baby on it for scale). You should be aware the material is thin and like that of camping tents. So it is not padded or cloth like. To me that's a plus bc it's easy to clean and carry, compared to those padded beach blankets that are impossible to wash. I highly recommend this blanket!(Full disclosure I got a postcard from the vendor AFTER I personally bought this item encouraging me to write a review, either positive or negative, in exchange for a small gift card. But I would have written the review anyway as I really like this blanket, and like I said, I got the postcard after I had the blanket for a few weeks.)
