Essential for blister-prone hikers!
I have used sock liners in the past as an insulating layer. I didn't consider using them to prevent blisters until I read an article suggesting it and Fox River was a recommended brand. I usually get blisters when I hike and I tested these out on a 4-day, 40 mile hike through heat, humidity, and deep mud. My feet were wet the whole time and thanks to these liners, I didn't get any blisters. I have used every kind of foot lubrication good in the past and found they didn't really work. These sock liners do work and I will recommend them to friends and family!

Fantastic socks
I bought these socks before a now legendary hiking trip. I wore these socks along with some ankle socks and my KEEN Women's Gypsum WP Hiking Shoe, Raven/Baltic, 9 M US hiking shoes. We hiked into the Bankhead National Forest in the Sipsey Wilderness area. No trails at all, bring clippers to cut brambles and briars out of the way type of hike. Because there are only 10 people allowed per group in the Sipsey Wilderness, we broke up into two groups. The leader of our group wasn't as familiar with the area as he thought he was and we ended up wading about a mile up the wrong creek. When our mistake was discovered, we had to hike back out as quickly as possible, and ended up getting out of the forest as darkness was falling, thanks to the group member who had marked his car with a GPS location. I ended up with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever from a tick bite and a torn calf muscle due to pushing on when I had a huge calf cramp while climbing a very steep section of hill. It was an adventure!Anyway, these socks performed very well. They allowed my feet to stay dry in the waterproof keen shoes (which made my feet sweat on a subsequent hike during which I did not wear these socks) and they prevented any rubbing so even though I hiked for eight hours, I did not get any blisters. Instead of my socked foot rubbing against the inside of my shoes, the two layers of socks (these and jogging type angle socks) rubbed against each other. My feet did not overheat, and the socks gave a very satisfactory performance. They worked really well after the creek wade when I had to swap out of water shoes back into my keen shoes. They were easy to get on my feet even though my feet were damp and I'm convinced these socks are the reason I escaped the wilderness without a blister.

Trail tested: No discomfort or blisters
For days backpacking 30-some-odd miles in single digit temps; used these as liners under my wool hiking socks and never took them off (yes, I slept in them. No, I did not get a foot fungus). No blisters or discomfort. My son also wore them (not the same pair, people) but ended up with blisters on both big toes on the final day (a 12-mile descent). May be an issue with his Solomon boots (I think Solomon’s are overrated), but is worth noting that that did happen to him while wearing these liners.

Great socks!
Great socks! They’re comfortable, lightweight, perfect fit and they don’t shrink after washing and drying.

Good sock liners.
A very nice and thin sock liner that will go a long way in keeping your feet warm in winter. If you wear these with even regular socks they will do the job.

Not the quality they used to be.
I loved these after I got several a few years ago. Great quality and I still use those same ones. I ordered four pair of these new ones and they’re nothing like the old ones. Way thinner, shorter, and not the quality they once were. The new ones are almost like pantry hose. I’ll have to look around for a new brand.

Keeps me warm and dry
I use these liners as an extra layer under my winter hiking socks. They have been great on especially cold days. My feet have stayed warmer and dryer. I really notice when I don't wear them. Happy with my purchase!
