Compact gel packs that keep your food cold and are great for first aid treatment
With young children, packing lunches, and treating bumps and scrapes requires a lot of ice or ice packs. This three pack kit from TWELVElittle meets our needs perfectly. They are sized right, are easy to clean, retain their cold long enough for keeping lunches chilled, and are easy to apply on small limbs. The gel packs take about 3 hours to reach the desired amount of frozen that we like. One of our children prefers the gel to not be frozen solid, though, so we keep that one lower in the freezer where it can be more accessible for use many times throughout the day. We received similar ice packs when they were born, to aid in relief after breastfeeding. Those lasted many years, and we have high hopes that these ones will last just as long. Each gel pack comes in its own small plastic bag that is great for keeping them clean after use, and when put back in the freezer. As I write this, our children just returned from a picnic and park trip with my spouse. I was told the carrots and ranch were nice and chilly, despite the 90F degree weather today, and their juice boxes were cold and refreshing. The Stay Cool gel packs are still cold but not frozen throughout anymore. No worries, though, as they will clean quickly and freeze back up for the next use. We haven’t had these for a long time, but they are working as advertised and according to our needs. The actual plastic packaging that contains the gel is nice and thick, but still pliable, and knowing the gel is non-toxic provides greater confidence in allowing these to be used on or near food, and on the body. Careful, though, they get cold!!

TWELVElittle - 3 Stay Cool Ice Packs, Reuseable, For Food Or Bumps & Bruises
My favorite thing about these TWELVElittle Ice Packs is the way they they fit the kids booboos. Put 1 in a cotton handkerchief and they are just what Dr Mom prescribed for the bumped knee or bruised elbow. They do a great job of keeping down swelling. I personally use them against my temples when I feel a tension headache coming on. They work faster than any medication I’ve tried. They can be washed by hand and refrozen. They do a good job keeping small amounts of food or drink cool too. They take about 3 hours to freeze and are about 4” diameter and 1/2” thick when frozen. At $3.00 each they run a little more than the booboo freezer pads I purchased but they seem like they maybe more durable so that’s a good trade off. I recommend these more as a child’s or adult’s first aid freezer pad, but they can also be used for food in a pinch. When frozen there should always be a layer of fabric or paper between the pad and skin when used for first aid.

Versatile Gel Packs, Just Wash Them First
I would wash these first before first use because they do have a bad chemical odor when you first open the package. Once you've done that, these are very versatile and useful. They kinda remind me of the padding women would use for their bras! But they're great for keeping single bottles of soda cold or tending to small wounds. Each one is about the size of a small women's compact mirror and are easy to keep in your bag for use. I've never seen such small gel packs before but they're great. You can also one over each eye to give yourself a soothing stress relief moment (just make sure you keep them in the fridge and not freezer, though!)
