Q: What is the difference between these and the "fluffies"?

I ordered some fluffies earlier this year and the quality has really gone down from those we bought in the '70's and '80's. These are a tighter weave and thicker. Appears to be a cotton blend with elastic fibers interwoven in the socks. I can't stand the new very thin socks you find at department stores. I've always liked thick socks.

Q: I bought the gold toe men's metropolitan dress sock and they are too long up the calf. will these be shorter? or could you recomment another pair?

I'm a size 11.5. They come up to just below the calf as in the picture. Note: these are casual crew socks and not dress socks. They're heavier in weight then dress socks. I wouldn't wear them with dress shoes because of that. Of course, that's just a matter of taste.

Q: I wear a size 7 and want to know if the foot part of the sock has too much material for a true size 7. Help?

I have size 8 foot and sock has enough material. I do not recommend these socks, they are good quality, but upper part is too tight on leg and even after leaving them overnight over oversize vase for stretching, they stayed too tight.

Q: What is the difference between the Uptown and the Metropolitan crew?

I've never had them side-by-side to examine, but I think the Uptown is a thicker sock with more elasticity at the top to hold the sock up. For me, it doesn't slip down my leg as easily, nor develop holes over the toes or at the heel as quickly.
